I have seen various football posts/threads on this forum, but nothing dedicated to Millwall. That suprises me somewhat, considering East Dulwich is in south London and we are in the play-off final on saturday. Got my tickets and can't wait to go and support my team(again!) Surely there must be others who have spent 5 hours queueing for tickets, and would like to share this experience etc. Please add all related comments to this thread: WE ARE MILLWALL, SUPER MILLWALL, WE ARE MILLWALL, FROM THE DEN

Having been to Millwall twice I can say that it's one of the best stadiums I have been to in terms of atmosphere and noise generated. The stands are really close to the pitch and away supporters get a great view (unlike Brentford and Charlton).

However.......fans are sooooooo chavvy!! I know all clubs have a chav element but Millwall seems to have a lot more than most!

My views have been influenced somewhat by the 5-0 reverse over my two visits this season (I am a little bitter) and I'm not judging A Moon in any way!!!!

It is, suprisingly (given stereotypes), the safest I have ever felt at an away game. Absolutely no chance for the fans to mix.

They have made an effort to become a family club by introducing a farm just outside the stadium. Although they have only managed to get to horses and dogs so far.

Oi PGC! We have scones in Yorkshire too! And a proper Barnsley Chop is serious food, unlike that pie and mash thing with the green snot running all over it!

Would rather have Millwall than Swindon in the Championship, but would try to be out of the country for the Millwall v Leeds fixture...

Don't you think that's a bit negative? If everyone thought that, we wouldn't have any fans left, let alone be able to sell 40,000 wembley tickets

Just like to say that I am not a 'chav', just a passionate supporter, which is something millwall fans possess more than most other fans, pure passion for their team.

Well as a City fan I went to the Den two or three times and every time I saw trouble. So I tried the New Den and we were held in the ground for an hour afterward while there was a bit of a riot outside, then got an escort to South Bermondsey treading through broken bottles and bricks. No police waiting at London Bridge though, cheers lads.

So as I say, I've tried. Ironically I quite like the club and understand it works hard on community relations etc but experience has put me off. I'll try again at some point.

Luckily (maybe), the two times I have been we have lost and therefore the home fans have gone away happy.

The second time we did get held back for an hour whilst the crowd dispersed and when we got out we had some 8 year old tell us 'it's a good job we won else you would have been beaten up by now'.

Even though I felt safe in the stadium, some poor steward who took a few punches from the natives probably did not feel the same!

Nothing wrong with passion - but this seems to become aggression quite quickly.

Good luck in the Play Offs - I personally think you will hammer Swindon, especially if your midfield is on form again. Danny Schofield, on his day, can skip past any player with the ball seemingly stuck to his foot!

I imagine you will have some passionate exchanges with Cardiff and Leeds next season. So that will be nice!

Is it safe for a black or asian person to attend a Millwall game?

Are we likely to get racist abuse thrown at us or is it all cleaned up these days?

**I'm assuming that the black or asian person would be supporting Millwall and not cheering for the away side...that's obviously asking for trouble!

Well...

Things have changed "fractionater" but it is still The Millwall, rough, ready & vocal

This article was written in 2002

I know they do work hard down there at the "Den" to move forward in a healthy & progressive way in all areas

Good luck to them though on Saturday

All away fans get held for a while after a match until the crowd has dispersed. But the same thing has happened to me when I've travelled away with Millwall. The police don't want to take any chances so keep the fans segregated. I've been a supporter for years & never been involved in any trouble. Certain other teams supporters (no names!) are coming to the den looking for trouble & are only interested in antagonizing our fans, who retaliate, then get a bad name.

It is nice to know that there are forum members who don't actually support Millwall but still want them to win on saturday. Really hope we will have something to celebrate.

    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
    • Having a BBQ (fingers crossed) in 2 weeks and need a small BBQ for veggie bits and any spare benches or garden tables and chairs to borrow to add to mine. Any going? Thanks in advance...
