So, this is the first father's day since the wee man was born and I was going to get a mug with baby's hand prints from All Fired Up for my husband.

I then suggested we get that for the grandads and therefore, can't get it for husband any more!!! (True baby brain moment).

Any ideas? (This is a present from baby to daddy)

Well really it's from you as the baby is too young to know who the hell Daddy is! Fathers day is extremely artificial anyway. I should know. I am one. Thank god they pay no attention to it. But if you want to be soppy about it just get him something he likes. You don't need to ask anyone for help with that as you know him best!;-)

Don't think it matters if Grandad's got it too- last year we made a batch of mugs for Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa. My OH loves drinking from his mug and E's feet look so small now!

There are lots of ideas on Turprint- keyrings, fridge magnets etc- quite sweet!

Twisted & twee (online but local co) does a great line in 'pint' tshirts for dad with 'half pint' long sleeved tops in contrasting colours for the wee one (esp. suited to little boys I'd say). Cotton is really nice quality too. Unfortunately, I already bought my husband a set for his birthday in may so alternative suggestions are v helpful!!

Ps. Some brilliant fathers day cards in postmark!

The fathers day presents I have received from my eldest daughter is to spend a few hours doing something together,

we have eaten on a ship on the thames,

had the day in Kew gardens

and another at RHS Wisley,

went to the new-ish art gallery with the wobbly bridge,

none of these presents cost the earth,

but we do have memories of them all which would not be the case of a gift.

    • Missing Cat! 11 months old/ Our friend, Coco, has gone missing. Last seen evening of 31st October near top of Henslowe rd where it meets Underhill Rd in SE22. We know she has started wandering up Friern Rd and further we guess but we imagine she has been spooked by Halloween / Fireworks goings on. She is a grey Siberian mix with some brown stripes down her, very friendly and likes to eat. Please let us know
    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
