Not so. They can't be idiots either as they are showing the World Cup on big screens at The Capitol (a Wetherspoon pub) in Forest Hill.

I thought that about Wetherspoons - til the last world cup when the Wetherspoons I was in suddenly unveiled an absolutely huge screen - from nowhere. It seemed it had been built into the Wetherspoons - but never used (except in football emergencies obviously).

    • Some of you may have never been to a post office on a Saturday when one or more people are posting their ebay parcels and you wait yonks.  Just one of those things.  I'm more concerned about the speed of the Royal Mail.  I may start a thread on this!
    • If you're going British, Marks and Sparks do a fantastic Cornish Cruncher Cheddar (get the three year old if it's on offer) and a Stilton/Stichelton which are wrapped in something more like wax paper.  I'm pretty sure they used to do a Stinking Bishop which had minimal plastic wrapping, as well.
    • Thanks to everybody for the responses. Agree that £50-60 is somewhat excessive so supermarket is likely to be the route we take.
    • If you can track down the owners of the now defunct Heritage Cheese in the village, there could be some stock-clearance bargains if you don't mind your cheese a little pre-nibbled.
