What bait are you on about. Some sad wanker who comes from the midlands tries to give it large and when someone stands up to said wanker, it is they that are in the wrong?? Just how does that work??

Sandperson also just made a point based on what was said on Radio 5, he never said it was true, but he said that the Arsenal lack of funds thing had been called in to question on BBC Radio, which raises an interesting topic for discussion.

Now, you replied not by saying "hmm, interesting point, I disgree because....", but rather by saying "Well I couldn't let your bullshit pass. Man Ure have to spend to achieve where as we don't, and never have even when we went 49 games unbeaten. We leave that shit to Man Ure and Chavski.Same old Manu Ure fans full of MANURE.". Hardly mature discussion about a game we all enjoy / love.

Then ratty makes a light hearted quip about Pires taking a dive, and even finishes it with a smiley face, and you go mental about himand his team!

I don't know if you just flame on here because you just enjoy the wind ups, and want to be the panto villan, or if you are really that wound up about everything. I do think you could do with some new quips though.

fuck off Keef you cunt, just cos liverpool haven't won anything since last fucking century *coughs politely into hand* why don't you fuck off back to millwall or wherever it is you come from, typical Liverpool, always full of liverpudenda MWAH HAH HAH HAH HAH

...or not.

Blimey - I only went out for lunch.

God I hate this thread, I wish I stayed away like I said I would. On the Liverpool forums there's an ignore function, whereby if you constantly fall out with someone, you can ignore them and their comments won't appear. Wonder if Admin could set one up on here.

I'm torn next weekend I'm afraid. Would love Pompey to win and play in Europe, but also I'd love to see Robbie "GOD" Fowler do the business for Cardiff. I will therefore hope for a 4-3 win to Pompey with a Fowler hat-trick.

Oi!!! (6) Quit picking on Keef and get your facts right. I think you'll find we've won a fair bit of silverware this century! ;-)

Ahh come one SimonM, we all know you're running scared. With Leeds in the Championship next season our Yorkshire derbies get a lot more interesting than Leeds v Huddersfield. You'll be battling with the Wendies to avoid the drop.

On a more serious matter, how did the ex-Leeds boys do this season at Brammal Lane?

>>Ahh come one SimonM, we all know you're running scared. <<

Not quite scared, but you are quite right :)) - I'd rather we were competing in the Championship againbs Doncaster than Leeds.

Matt Kilgallon had a great season - if only our other main cenral defended Chris Morgan had his speed and did not keep gettings yellows and reds! Rob Hulse not so good. He came back from that long-term injury he picke dup at Chelsea last season but has not yet regained his sharpness. But perhaps, as a striker and a talented one at that, he just needs more time. However if we manage to hang on to James Beattie it would not surprise me at all if Blackwell let Hulse move on as we are actually quite well off for strikers - Sharp, Stead, Shelton and even Danny Webber.

After starting with 2 draws and an abyssmal defeat Blackwell's record was 27 points from 14 games - if united had sustained hat throughout we would have walked back to the Premier. We also topped the Championship for home attendances. So one way or another the pressure will be om KB to engineer a flying start to next season - expectations are (possibly unreasonably) high...

SimonM

If Leeds do get back into the Championship (fingers crossed) then the matches against the Blades will be real hummdingers for more than the usual reasons.

Natural rivalry in the fixture is already quite intense. In fact, I'd put games against you and the Wendies joint third in our grudge match list after United and Chelsea.

Then you've got a couple of our players who Leeds fans liked and were sorry to see go. Killa especially was a hard one to swallow having come through our youth team. We wanted the next Woodgate - and we sort of got him, buggering off when we ran out of money, again! Hulse was always impressive though never scored as many as you thought he should have.

Then the big factor, Blackwell. Hounded from Elland Road just months after taking us to the play-off final. Given time and resources I think he really could be a great manager. He had neither at Leeds. In hindsight it was a mistake but I doubt he would have stayed with us when we went down anyway. The reception he gets from the Leeds fans will be interesting. Not that I'd swap him for Gary Mac now anyway. Legend.

David

I am sure losing Hulse & Kilgallon to us stuck in your throat. But it has long been the case that these two teams have raided one another when one of them is thriving and the other isn't. I recall Mick Jones, Tony Currie and Alex Sabella all going North. It was nice to have a bit of revenge as only in recent years has the balance tipped our way.>:D<

Yes, United v United would be a sell-out at both venues I think - and I hope if it comes off Sky do the decent thing and show one of them live at least!

As for Kevin Blackwell, there was a school of thought when he was with us that he, more than Colin, was responsible for us getting to two cup semi-finals, the play-off final and 3rd place in the Championship in the same season - immediately after which these two had their falling out and KB went off to Leeds. This season he effectively took over Robson's team and kicked their arses. Now he has the three year contract it will be interesting to see who he buys/sells in the summer and how things go from August.

Should Leeds not get promotion have you any recommendations/fears as to who he might swoop on? :))

    • I sometimes don't feel as comfortable as I did but it's not because I'm older, it's because I'm sober. Staggering home when I was younger I always felt I like a had a cloak of invisibility around me. And a magic compass - not even sure how I found my way home some nights.
    • I'm London born and bred and have always considered myself streetwise having grown up in Notting hill (pre getrification) and I lived on the border of Harlesden (kensal green) in the 90's  when it was pretty sketchy round there .and I spent much of the 80's and early 90's in downtown New York.. I would walk everywhere at all hours of the day and night and never felt particularly uneasy largely because I was always mindful of my surroundings and walked with 'purpose'. I don't know wether its because I'm now so much older but I don't feel as comfortable as I used to walking round London. Today I was in the West end and I made sure to carry my bag on the opposite arm to that facing the kerb and felt uneasy when I saw people wizzing around on limebikes or scooters close to the kerb..I never got my phone out at all...I never used to feel like this but just recently I've had friends witness phone and bag snatching in central london in broad daylight..apparently it happened so fast in both instances there was nothing anyone could do to help..One phone snatching was during the tube strike 7.30am two guys on bikes grabbed a mans phone..My friend took the victim to a nearby hotel to sit down and recover the hotel said due to the tube strike they had witnessed many duo's of youth out very early on bikes aware that there were more pedestrians around at that time with their phones out trying for Ubers or looking at directions. I would'nt say I feel 'unsafe' I just feel more aware of being a possible target for crime than formerly. I don't know if this is due to being older or due to reading the press.
