To be fair to Anna, I think she was playing with Sandperson there.

I used to go all the time when I lived in Liverpool, but I haven't been to Anfield for years, was going to go up to The Fulham match, but couldn't in the end (and am quite pleased I missed it really). I do want to go to a game soon, mainly because Anfield won't be there much longer, but to be honest, I prefer watching matches in the pub, simply because I have rubbish eyesight, and can follow it better.

I went to see Charlton a month or 2 ago, and it was the first match I'd seen in a couple of years. Sat there just thinking why have I wasted ?20 for this, I can't see who is who from here, and I'm cold, and the beer is in plastic glasses.

As I say, I will try and get to a game soon, probably with our very own Annasfild, but even if I could see perfectly, I think I'd chose to spend my money on other things (not that I'd have the money to go all the time anyway).

Each to their own though I say!

Thanks Keef, I wasn't trying to be all high and mighty (so cheers for that too MP :-S).

It was by no means aimed as a nasty dig or pop at anyone and as I'm sure you'll be aware there is always plenty of banter between United and Liverpool fans. The first question that is usually asked is "have you even ever been to Anfield/OT?" delete as apt'.

What's the stat'? __% of Man United supporters have never even been to Manchester......

I'm sure it was all meant in the best possible taste. I find that pretty much where ever I go in the world I see just as many Liverpool and Chelsea fans as United. It's like the old cliche about United changing their kits more often than other teams it's a nice myth that rival fans liked to use as a wind-up.

I still don't know which paragons of virtue you follow...Obviously Fergie makes no sense. I mean nine Scottish trophies, 15 English trophies (not including the 8 Community Shields and 7 European Cups of varying types means he is an idiot. All I can say is give me Fergies and loveable ways over your manager any day. So come on, give us all a laugh, who do you follow?

Oh, and by-the-way, we still won the league for the 10th time in the 95-96 season, grey kit or not.

UGH!

Ince sacked. No big surprise, but a shame. How will we ever get new talented managers in the top flight if they are just sacked, and we go back to the same old tired names like Big Sam, and Graeme Souness!?!? What has the latter ever done in management that is impressive?

At least Big Sam kept Bolton up for a long time, and made them in to a tough (if boring) team.

I'm not the biggest fan of Ince, but he should have been given time, and a bit of money.

Shame for Ince but at least he has a track record behind him at Macclesfield and MK Dons, so should be back in management sooner rather than later. Unlike Roy Keane of course who had no track record and so decided to bail out from Sunderland before his reputation was dented beyond repair.

I just hope Ince does not sink to the same level as likes of Big Sam and pimps himself around ITV, Setanta and Sky until some dopey Chairman thinks he talks a good game.

I don't know why who I support has any relevance, as in regard Manchester United all I have said is what I'd expect from any fair minded United fan. Now I know Sandperson can't be openly negative on this forum against his once proud club but I am sure down at Fans HQ in Surrey he will agree with my every word ;-)

To be fair if you go week in week out, home and away and live hundreds of miles from your home ground, and spend thousands doing it, it does give you the right to banter at those that don't go, irrespective of circumstances.

Regarding todays news, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke in Ince, by most accounts. ;-)

    • Thanks all, our hope was (despite the diminishing estate) he would get on with it.  Progress is glacial, it's been two years since probate was granted, that's two cold and damp winters with no heating, and not surprisingly a pipe burst. He's blames the issues on the estate agent, who separately had a dispute with him, he had a wobbly when one of the beneficiaries spoke to the estate agent.  Separately he said it was the family's fault for letting the property get into a poor condition.  It was dated, but certainly not in poor condition. There are two five star reviews on Google, and five one star: ** WARNING** This solicitor firm has to be one of the worst I have encountered. The solicitor is prehistoric in his practices and will carry out work at his own snails pace, the fax machine he uses gets turned off at 2 pm and its near impossible to get him on the phone. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, check the solicitors ombudsman, this firm has previous bad practice recorded.   Disgusting under no circumstances use this solicitor. For over 10 years he has not carried out the terms of a Will he has not re-invested money but has retained it.  He writes letters which are pure "Flannel" excuses for doing nothing.  You have been warned   shocking experience, delayed the whole process, told other side solicitors to not contact him as he feels pressured etc. never use.   Not fit for 21st century. No website, no email address, no electronic transfer. Very slow, very little communication.   Was not a pleasant experience dealing with this firm
    • If you mean the one outside the church going towards Peckham, it still had the closed sign on it this morning, but as there are no road works there, I'm sure some of the drivers will stop there on request.  The stop outside the chippy coming from Peckham is closed as there are road works in front of it.  The 4 way traffic lights are in operation.., causing a lot of congestion.
    • We found a recommendation for Geek Electrics on a here after we wanted to have a electrical inspection of a property we are buying. From the very beginning through to the end Bob was responsive, helpful and demonstrated his knowledge. He has been an absolute pleasure to deal with.
