Hi all

Ive got 8 week daughter:) but we recently moved to east dulwhich and don't know anyone in the area. Was wondering if j could join the group. If so where do you normally meet up. I live close to east dulwhich road.

Many thanks ;)

Gigi

Hope everyone is well :O) Afraid we can't make today as Bea is full of cold but hopefully see you next week.

Gigi - you'd be really welcome to come along, we normally meet up at 3pm on Tues in Green and Blue on Lordship Lane, I think a few are meeting today at the back of the cafe where there is more room for buggies.

Hi all, we can't make it today as have family staying, so will see you next week.

Gigi and kadde - please do come and join the group! We normally meet at Green and Blue on Lordship Lane, at the back, at 3pm Tuesdays, and people post on this thread to say whether they are going.

Hi everyone!

I'm very happy to say I won't be able to go today - not because I don't want to (i love it!) - because I have little Jack with me. Yes, he came on Saturday morning after a long night of labour between 10pm and 8am. I can't believe i did it and without the epidural because there wasn't any time.

I have stitches at the moment which is not very nice but everything went well. Unfortunately, Jack is not latching on as he just doesn't open his mouth. Midwives have said he's got something called tongue tied (hte bit of skin under our tongues that should be long is very short in him).

Anyway, he will get better i'm sure...at the moment i'm experiencing the wonders of motherhood (day 3, boobs that sort of hurt, lovely stitches and a wonderful husband and baby!)

See you all soon...

Congratulations!

Don"t know if you are aware, but a tounge tie can be easuly fixed. I would book in for it as soon as possible. I don't know the details myself, but it has been discussed on the forum before so do a search and something should come up. Good luck x

Contests! I too have a little Jack and he also has Tongue tie!! He's 7 weeks now and is breast feeding fine, he had probs at the beginning, but now is fine and has a ferocious appetite. Midwife said it was very easy to rectify if need be. Look fwd to meeting everyone next week. Tracy

Congratulations Paula, that's great news, so glad Jack has arrived safely :O) I've also heard that a tongue tie is really easy to deal with so sure he'll be fine bless him. Hope you are coping ok and look forward to meeting the little fella :O),

See you all next week, Lu xx

Hi everyone,

We would have liked to go today with Jack but my husband is still on paternity leave so we are trying to take advantage of the time as much as we can before he gets back to work.

We will defenitely be around with little J next week.

Have a nice afternoon!

Paula

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone

Is anyone up for meeting tomorrow afternoon? Perhaps we could meet in the new cafe at the Gardens if the weather is nice and perhaps combine with a stroll around Peckham Rye park?

Would be great to see everyone

    • Missing Cat! 11 months old/ Our friend, Coco, has gone missing. Last seen evening of 31st October near top of Henslowe rd where it meets Underhill Rd in SE22. We know she has started wandering up Friern Rd and further we guess but we imagine she has been spooked by Halloween / Fireworks goings on. She is a grey Siberian mix with some brown stripes down her, very friendly and likes to eat. Please let us know
    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
