hi Paula...it's not too far at all...do you know the tesco on the right down past gooose green? if you walk past it then turn right at the lights you'll find the gardens cafe a few hundred yards up on the right, on the corner of the street called the gardens. I'll pm you my number in case you get lost - would be nice to see you. Penny. x

Hey Victoria,

Sorry we've only just replied, I've been a bit weigh laid with jobs at home today as we've had no water for the last couple of days so just catching up, mare. What a nice idea, the park and then tea and cake, it's such lovely weather at the moment. Maybe we could arrange this for next Tues instead, who's free next Tues?

Hi !!!

I've posted before to join winter babies club, but unfortunately wasn't able to come along. I have 4 months old daughter and very new to ED. Would love to meet local mums and make friends. I would love to join to your next meeting if it's ok. Please let me know. Gigi x

Hi Gigi,

You'd be really welcome to come along, we haven't all met up for a while but usually meet up on a Tues afternoon in ED.

Who's up for meeting next week? Maybe we could do Peckham Rye and The Gardens cafe as Victoria suggested a couple of weeks back?

Lu x

    • I’m going to stick my Gregory Peck right out and say not the Tories.
    • I think there's a lot in what you say. Although bi election results aren't usually indicative of GE results, I was horrified to see Reform support was so high in what had previously been a Labour stronghold, Labour and Conservative results reflecting the tired old parties they are.  It isn't our generation (sorry @Sue if I'm being presumptuous!) that will decide the outcome of elections but those in their 20s, 30s, 40s ... if they can be bothered to vote. The Greens and Reform now present a real choice instead of two centrist main parties of the last 30 years which has put people off voting. Perhaps locally I will continue to vote Labour, i really couldn't bear for the LibDems to return and we have to consider the demographic of the whole of Southwark. But come the GE I will probably vote Green.
    • I agree but in the case of McAsh, that would just have left his constituents without a councillor for 3 months until the May elections. MPs switching parties is really galling. If an MP is suspended for law breaking etc., then a recall petition can be issued and, if enough of the constituents support it, a by-election is called. I think the same should apply for defectors.
    • Interesting discussion point @Moovart, should they wait till the next election or should it trigger an immediate by-election so the post is not left empty ?  Your concept is logical and may have the added effect of swaps, lke the Premier league, only happening in a defined transfer window just before each election.
