They did. I rented Jean-Luc Godard's "Week End" from there once. That's been out of circulation for years. I'm really sad to see it go, they had a really good back catalogue.

Indeed, although I've been curious as to why that stays empty for so long. The video shop's only what 50 yards away from I guess - I just looked at google streetview and the shop next to the video shop's empty - what's in there now as I can't remember?

There's a whole thread on what ED needs on here and that's a decent sized shop with I'm sure a decent size rent - it'll be interesting to see how the real world fills this one, as well as the stationers and the one next to the Co-op.

My vote is for a car dealer, plenty of pavement there eh? ;-)

This is shame. There was something quite magical about the place - it reminded me of a video shop out of a film, with the staff banter and movies playing the background. Before I had internet at my house that place was my lifeline!
