Slight problem, my friend got his bag stolen, with my series 2 in it!!! He is replacing, but not sure when I'll have it, as he still needs to watch it, so if you can get hold of it, do. If not, you are, as I say, welcome to it when I have it back.

It was more the fact he had spare keys to his mum's house, and something with her address on in there that was the problem! A quick lock change was required!

Just to let all Wire fans know that fan-favourite Michael K Williams (Omar Little) will be appearing in the new Incredible Hulk movie. He's a soldier in Gen. Ross's unit tasked with capturing the Hulk.

I just found out that Stringer (Idris Elba) was in THIS series that I rather enjoyed in the late 90s (97/98 maybe)... It rode the wave of Jack Davenport's fame from This Life, but don't think it really took off. Shame.

In the wake of an un-named forumite receiving some Wire-themed headwear in the pub last night, does anyone own or know where to get any Wire merchandise?

I've found one t-shirt I quite like but wondered if there is anything better?

Look a Google Map of Baltimore with the Wire places marked on it, change it to a satellite image and you can zoom into Marlo's playground meeting spot, or see the Pit (without the sofa)

I've never seen The Wire but have heard and read very good things about it. Does anyone know if any of the local DVD rental shops (or the libraries) have copies of the first series?

so, anyone watch it last night on FX?

I recorded it - partly to skip ads, but I'll also try and build up a backlog of episodes before I start. So, no spoilers please

I saw a picture in a review this morning of one of the news guys and saw it was Clark Johnson - one of the main characters in the direct predecessor to the Wire - Homicide Life in the Street. Think he directed a few of the early Wire episodes as well

And for a show on a tiny satellite channel, boy did it generate some columns in the papers at the weekend!

I did love one quote in the Independent piece.

I've just discovered www.sidereel.com where I'm streaming series 5, great picture...and its free. I'm penniless at the moment so please dont get all moralising on my ass. Only just found out that this is the last season as well....enjoy it while you can.
