katie1997
he looked cool in that white suit I must admit (god I didn't think my memory stretched this far back)*bob* sorry for going a little off topic, if I'm ever sure to dump the next mr katie1997 in an amusing way, you can rest assured I will post details here :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13137-youre-dumped/page/2/#findComment-358723 Share on other sites
DJKillaQueen
You should dump someone at least once in your life Katie....it's very empowering....makes you feel for a few moments that you are in control of your life and emotions, before collapsing into a tearful wreck on the sofa with a box of Kleanex, bottle of Chardonnay and a Brigit Jones DVD. Jah Lush
I almost had a psychic girlfriend once, but she dumped me before we met. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13137-youre-dumped/page/2/#findComment-358729 Share on other sites
Loz
You should dump someone at least once in your life Katie....it's very empowering....makes you feel for a few moments that you are in control of your life and emotionsEmpowering? Really?? I always came away feeling like I was a complete bastard, even though I was generally doing the right thing and calling a halt to something that was absolutely doomed anyway. Jah Lush
What Loz said. Dumping someone is never easy and can sometimes be quite painful and embarrassing. In the past I have often become very unreliable in a relationship that clearly wasn't working so that eventually they dump me. It's a lot easier that way and they may feel they've got one over you. But they haven't. But only you know that. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13137-youre-dumped/page/2/#findComment-358753 Share on other sites
DJKillaQueen
Unreliability can be hurtful too but it does kind of give clues. If a relationship is right then it's easy. Too many people hang on in relationships that are going nowhere or doomed and then wonder why they get dumped. You just have to be honest with yourself and never think you can't feel that way about someone else. waynetta
Starting a new relationship? Lend your partner ?20. That way when you get dumped you can at least soften the blow by getting your money back. red devil
I once went out with a girl who dumped her boyfriend for me because I bore more than a passing resemblance to Ian McCulloch...*Bob*, if you want a 'guns at dawn' duel I'm available weekends Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13137-youre-dumped/page/2/#findComment-358764 Share on other sites
*Bob*
This McCulloch fella sure has a lot to answer for. And I presume he never used to tuck his jumper into his trousers either. Jeremy
Good story, candj. From 1990 to 1995, Diaz dated unemployed student Matt Hanson. In 1995 she began a relationship with actor Matt Dillon.Let's be honest... I think most women would make a similar trade-up given the option. legalbeagle
I wouldn't.Now Eddie Izzard, well that's another thing entirely. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13137-youre-dumped/page/2/#findComment-358803 Share on other sites
Brendan
Yeah, I would probably finish with Eddie Izzard for an unemployed student if I found fame and fortune. legalbeagle
Don't be deliberately difficult dear. You know what I meant. I wouldn't have dumped someone for Matt Dillon cos he has ZERO sex appeal and the emotional range of a teaspoon. Unlike the lovely Mr Izzard. Brendan
Funny you should say that as I was actually once dumped by Matt Dillon in a freak turn of events inexplicably involving Eddie Izzard. And an alarm clock. shmurgy
My girlfriend at school dumped me quoting Sting of all people... 'if you love somebody, set them free'. Am still upset 20 years later. legalbeagle
Well it could have been worse. She could have quoted Bono: "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle". Count yourself lucky.(And before anyone says it, I know that was originally Irina Dunn, not Bono, but I was just trying to keep the popstar continuity going....) helena handbasket
I was once dumped for turning 30. By a fellow I didn't realize I was dating. He said it was moving too fast, and that my ticking biological clock was now a gong. He was scared that we would be shopping for furniture soon. He ended by saying "It's not you, it's me". Uh, thanks for clearing that up, freak! He then married and knocked up the next girl he dated within the year.
