Sorry W**F, surely you mean 'Where were we?' ;-) Don't worry, I'm dyslexic too AND I can't spell unless with spell check.

Sooooooooo, after all that I gather the vale is changing ownership?

Hurrah is all i have to say, perhaps we should all celebrate with a ?1.50 (on Mondays) guest ale at a wetherspoons, they do a good range of decent ales served with out a smile and enjoyed in a motorway service station ambiance, but heh, it's ?1.50 and there's always the garden or street.

Having said that the Balham one could be the most depressing place in England.

I should hope that all of those opposed to JDW in ED are drinking in the Vale showing their support for local boozers!

How accurate are the roumors that JDW have an interest in the vale?

Does anybody know this for a fact? If so what stage of the process are they at?

So, how long before you sell up then ?

  • 3 weeks later...
Looks like Wetherspoons aren't willing to pay the owners valuation. They've put in a good bid but aren't willing to pay the ?500k the owner think its worth. Wetherspoons buy and sell pubs every week and know how much they're worth. ?500k for the Vale they're taking the piss.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
