Holly Johnson closing he Save the Children night at Union Chapel Thursday one. Sang The Poer f Love with string section backing. Gorgeous venue, great once, beautiful tune.

Made up for the weirdness of seeing Tim Burgess duetting with Myleene Klass on a harp earlier in the night....

Saw The Cure 3 or 4 years ago at Wembley of all places, and they were brilliant. Genuinely just plain great, three hours of a band which just knows what they're doing.

So am going again to RAH next week and hoping not to be disappointed.

I saw the Cure in 1980 and they were brilliant. Maybe even better in 84. I saw them again in 1986 and they were still pretty decent. All down hill from there, I could probably listen to one of the early albums like Pornography on the odd ocassion if pushed.

I suppose my rather dismissive post is repeating what the older generation said about me after I saw the Who in 1979.

Anyway onto contemporary matters - seeing O'Hooley and Tidow on Monday week at St Pancras Old Church a weel tomorrow wish I am looking forard to.

Oh, what did that nasty Mr Peter Townsend say about you, dear? Did he hope you died before you got old? Awww... poor you

Seems we erred on the side of caution on the buying frenzy when neutral milk hotel went on sale.

Buggers then added two more dates, so we have 3 tix going spare for tonight's gig at the Roundhouse if anyone is interested.

Saw Arcade Fire last night at Hyde Park.

I didn't really know much about them (a bit sad I know) but I have to say I have rarely enjoyed a gig more than I did last night and I have rarely seen so many happy people in one place. An amazing performance and will be buying the back catalogue.
