Coffee on Saturday the 4th sounds good at this stage. Hopefully I can leave my wee nearly-2 year old menace at home in order to have a proper chat. Where are people located in ED generally? There is a new cafe just across from Peckham Rye park near The Gardens in an old electrical shop, but there are obviously no shortage of other options if L.Lane is more convenient.
  • 2 weeks later...

Really sorry all but due to the builders ripping out our bathroom that week we are going to escape to the warmth and clenliness of the inlaws next weekend...

sorry to mess things up.... I was looking forward to meeting all of you... I'll keep a look out for another meeting... or I'm free the following weekend 11th or 12th??

sorry again... Ali

We could reschedule for post holiday craziness in January, once our bumps are all more imminent? Does that work for others?

I'm up for coffee on a weekend, or a playdate on Friday afternoons but from now until Xmas is looking pretty hairy!

Alie

I'm so silly I hadn't even seen we were on the seccond page and so many people had said about coming along on the 4th! Now I'm even more gutted I can't make it.

Snowboarder, not exclusively for first timers, I just wanted to organise something that was more friendly for us, ie over a weekend when most of us are not at work but everyone is welcome to come..... with little ones too if that works for you

shall we put a date in the diary for Jan then and if people can make that it's great and like you say Alie our bumps will be more imminent!

How does 15th or 22nd sound to everyone?

anywhere suits me, I did want to check out the new electrical cafe so that sounds good but am equally happy elsewhere... I'm just behind Goose green so pretty flexible...

I could make Friday 14th or Saturday 15th but not Fri 21st or Sat 22nd - it would be great to meet up and compare notes. Snowborder / Mrsf - I have the opposite problem of a big bump - its so small that I get castigated by everyone I know (and people that I don't!) and that somehow I'm to blame!

Good luck everyone for the intervening month or so.

Looks like Friday 14th is popular - let's go for then :o)

Anyone know a quietish venue for an evening? I'm thinking the Rye or Montpellier... happy to wander to somewhere else though.

Hope next week's meet up is nice - looking forward to January now!

    • Whether the march still goes ahead will depend on what happens in the next couple of days, I imagine. Things have looked hopeful before, but fingers crossed this time is different. Have you actually read the posts above? Do you understand the difference between antisemitism and being against the Israeli government killing thousands of civilian adults and children? Do you understand why people were intending to demonstrate against our own government's involvement in killing thousands of civilian adults and children by supplying arms to Israel? It seems not. Why on earth would a march "still go ahead "to demonstrate antisemitism"?
    • Now there is a peace agreement, the only reason this would still go ahead is to demonstrate antisemitism.
    • Sadly everyone's in East Dulwich is. The move has been nothing but a complete disaster for us. And now  I gather that the office isn't even open most of the time, if you could get to it. It must be so disheartening to be a postie there knowing your bosses are forcing you to give a poor service by prioritising more lucrative parcel delivery. That was so much a privatisation too far.
    • I am currently dealing with numerous cases of clay shrinkage subsidence in Dulwich, and have had some success in getting TPOs lifted. I also agree with the comments about being cautious about getting insurers involved and I’m in the Insurance Post Magazine this week discussing this subject. I have written a blog on my website about it too. It’s a huge problem which is currently escalating enormously. UK Subsidence (clay shrinkage and trees) Fb group has experts on it (incl myself) giving free advice and is a useful resource. My Insurer has withdrawn subsidence cover.pdf
