Jah Lush
Dear El Bow, there are plenty on threads on here about restaurants in East Dulwich and lots of references to the one you mention here, mostly good I might add. I'd put url on it for you but I don't know how. Anyone else want to help this guy out? char1ie
It's nice. Run by Peruvians. Friendly staff and the food is good without being outstanding. Generally busy which is good because I hate empty restaurants. When we lived in Peckham Rye it was a staple for us. Good spot. Marmora Man
Went a couple of weeks ago for the first time, in response to posts on this site. I echo char1ie - good without being outstanding. The VFM equation works well, not costly, local, comforting food - cooked with care but not aspiring to become a No.1 Italian eaterie. Seemed buzzy, friendly - with couples, families and singletons all mixing well in a rather small room.Would return. Convenient if you've been to the cinema across the road. Domitianus
I have been just once and it was pleasant and friendly. A real little oasis of rustic calm in the badlands of Peckham. WHen you bear in mind the nearest alternatives are KFC, Mcdonalds, BK or chewing on a raw pig trotter bought from one of the nearby 'on-street' butchers, it is a godsend. dungdag
I always liked it when I lived in Peckham. I would recommend booking at peak times as it does get very packed at weekends. We nicknamed it the "rom-com" restaurant as it's perfect for holding hands accross a very intimately small table! Bellenden Belle
I have said it on the another thread but I am happy to join in again and praise this lovely little restaurant.I think Charlie and Marmora Man summed it up pretty well - it is not groundbreaking; but what it does, it does well. And it leaves you with both a full belly and a lovely warm feeling inside that such welcoming places still exist. AllyCat
After reading all the praise for this little Italian I thought it was worth checking out - so Saturday saw me and my "new friend"(!) check it out - and have to agree with Dundag - it really is very lovely! Highly reccomended - feels like a real local kind of place - with a great mix of clientele... have to say there was a rather ecelectic music choice going on though - heavy rock?Anyhow - I'm sure we'll be heading back there soon... it's just a shame ED hasn't got it's own lovely local Italian! Jah Lush
It has! On Forest Hill Road, opened a month or so ago. Si Mangia Da Lorenzo and I thoroughly recommend it too. Floating Onion
Tried it out recently after recommendations on here & quite enjoyed it. Good meal, good wine, friendly & attentive service (without always hovering). The music was definitely an interesting collection.Edit: Fixing typos.
