Snorky/Huncs, in answer to your question: not-quite-cold-enough bottled beer & mediocre cocktails, followed by a knee-trembler behind HSBC and (I'm second-guessing myself here) a visit to the clap clinic on Monday.

What's not to like?

Oh I would love to get my hands on that Boho bar and make something decent out of it. Lots of potential, but seems to make no concerted effort to make it into a venue that people want to go.

Cocktails are great actually, but we only ever stay till Happy Hour is over because we feel there's no real incentive to stay in that bar.

Boho Bar does seem a bit unpleasant. I've been in twice, the first time it was rather dull, the second time there was an air of leering desperation about the place.

I have had many a great night in Adventure, and though I've not been in recent months I'd like to defend the place. It's very cheesy, but it trades off that and is fun. The drinks are nice (and the staff tend to remember what your favourite drinks are if you go in a few times), the staff are funny and friendly, and though it can be boisterous I've never had any problems or felt intimidated or offended by anyone in there. If you want a quiet drink with a friend or a sophisticated evening it's maybe not the best choice, but it's great for a silly night out with a group of people. I think the place gets an unfairly bad rap.

xxxxxxx

They had a great DJ one of the two times I've been there (because I had a voucher from the Dulwich Tandoori next door for cheap drinks till a table was available).

Don't know whether he's usually there - I think it was a Saturday night.

The other time I went there was live music, but there was hardly anyone else there apart from us, although the music was good (Dan Maitland).

Well said genwilliams... A bunch of us had a great time there a few weeks back, complete with dancing on stools & general silliness. It was the only place open til late (we'd been for a meal in town & fancied carrying on for a bit longer so didn't get back to ED til midnight) & with cheesy music to have a dance to. Not my usual hangout by any means & admittedly the average age of other punters was about 21, but surely nice to have a bit of variety on LL?

    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
    • Dawson Heights again  2 lifts out of order at ladlands block Christmas Eve so of course the 🛗 will not be repaired tomorrow Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when how do elderly or mothers with children and prams and food and presents get to the floors and with the 10 minutes you get to drop off  to park and not get a Pcn fine and delivery food to relatives who can’t leave their house unbelievable Southern housing does any know email address of Coe of southern housing
    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
