If you are the middle-class dad who thought it was alright for his young teenage kids to spray orange juice* over my window sills in Melbourne Grove last night feel free to come round and wipe it off it off. You stood there, chatted to us in a friendly manner and then let your kids accept chocolate (what bit of trick OR treat don't you get?)from us. And then this is what we find in the morning, on a working morning when we could do without it.

*edited to add "possibly not even organic" (OK, know I am having a sense of humour failure, but am really irritated)

Agree it's hardly a 'hideous crime' but to answer you Curmudgeon and Kapt Kopter

We only had four sets of trick or treaters and my small son spent the evening peeping out of the windows hoping someone would come.

Unlike the others, this group didn't come straight to the door, but rustled about treading on the cardboard packaging in front of my windows, before they got round to ringing the bell. The other three groups (who I also know) rushed straight up the path.

    • Thanks for these responses. Yes, Cllr Browning & Cllr Hartley did a door-knocking exercise a couple of months ago. It was Maggie Browning who knocked and I told her that I'd had radio silence from Jon Hartley. She looked embarrassed but not surprised. I have spoken to him since, only after writting to Ellie Reeves, our MP about it his lack of response. He agreed to address the issue I asked about but I've not heard from him since. It's really not acceptable for an elected Councillor to consistently ignore his ward constituents. Since it's clearly not a one-off, I'm gonna pick this up formally. I'll let you know how I get on...
    • If memory serves, Labour under Corbyn got more electoral  votes than Labour under Starmer. So I'm not sure how you can call that being "unelectable"? Under a different and fairer electoral system Labour would have won. I see moves are afoot to bring in such a different, fairer system, presumably in the hopes of stopping Reform winning next time. BTW there was a mass exodus from Labour  by  the local (East Dulwich) Labour party members when Corbyn was kicked out by Starmer. It isn't just Islington who doesn't want to support  a right or centre right Labour party.
    • Is this the new shop next to Dulwich Tandoori? is it actually open and if so has anyone tried them.
    • It was The Brickhouse - we liked them and it was very sad when they had to close
