He was very amusing. But now he has been banned then we will all need to head on over to the other forum to get a fix, which is obviously what Louisiana is doing. I think his posting was very badly handled. You have quite a lot of emphatic opinions for a moderator don't you Sean?

No Cate. I just happened to be on WDF - a bit of a rarity for me - to post info about an event this week, and saw his post bang at the top of the home page. You couldn't miss it really.

You may have found his posts amusing Cate but I felt quite injured by the various comments he made about me. I'd prefer if he wasn't banned just yet anyway, so I could respond to him and him to me. I don't believe a human being can be really that nasty without a good reason. I'd like to understand what it is.

Just had a look on there and couldn't see anything by him so he must have been banned......

Don't think he posted that until you had deleted his posts three times without an explanation. Or so he said.

You feel injured? Because of the Keltic Mafia crack?

Really not sure how you have come up with that idea. I haven't suggested any such thing. I can see how he felt aggrieved that his post about his house was deleted three times without an explanation. If I had advertised a house to let in Nunhead and the post kept getting deleted I would have been upset not to get an explanation when there were other properties not in East Dulwich being advertised. Even Keef said he felt sympathetic towards him. I notice that someone has changed the blurb at the top of the bit about Property in East Dulwich following my suggestion.

Cate, it is the "East Dulwich" forum. It is the Residential Property in "Easy Dulwich" section. We remove posts about Brixton, Herne Hill, Brockley, Kent etc all the time from various parts of the forum (especially the business section) and we do not have time to tell all those people to read the title of the forum/section. The guy believed he was singled out, he was not. When he asked for an explanation he got one.

As a frequent user of the forum, would you be willing to volunteer your time to contact every person and company whose post we remove? We would supply you with their username and their message and you could PM each of them on our behalf, we would be very grateful and I think they would be too.

Hi Sharon, I would say they are all just on the periphery of East Dulwich. The boundary is a casual affair, it is a fuzzy borderline and there will be some inconsistencies, especially as this is a voluntarily run forum. We don't have the resources to create a defined line and then monitor each and every post to see that they are within those boundaries, oh just think of the workload!

Edited to add: Just to help put it in perspective we get 4,000 people a day on the forum and about 600 messages posted per day, there is no way we can monitor each and every one.

    • You'd need to get a proper quote (or three) for instance removing a cast iron bath is a very different job from removing an acrylic one. Again what pipe work will be being joined into - matching old imperial pipes with modern metric ones is different from like to like, as is dealing with a copper or an iron distribution system. The amount (area) of retiling required is an issue, as will be the state of the wall behind the tiles. It may of course all be very plain sailing, or not. Have a first look at plumber recommendations on the relevant pages on this site. If it's all easy then 3 days work may be sufficient. But it could be a week if there are snags.
    • Hi. Can anyone suggest a plumber for the job below? Replace bath tub with a shower enclosure, putting pipes to showerhead behind wall, re-titling damaged/removed tiles Also any idea of the costs involved for the labour as we will buy the items required?
    • Aria came round to fix my tub drain when I'd messed up the seal. Came within hours, fixed the tub, and ran a bath to make sure it was okay. Here's where the fun starts. While he was over, I asked him questions about the rest of the plumbing round the house. I had just moved into a Victorian home that was previously being rented. Unsurprisingly, we found another leak in the tub and a drip in the kitchen tap.  He came back the next day to put a better pipe in my bathtub and replace the kitchen sink. Painstakingly figured out how to replace the hard-to-access kitchen sink without cutting through the wood panel with the help of his builder friend, Mark. Answered all my questions and clearly knew his stuff. All this right before Christmas holidays!
