It's the rise of fake information. Just say something false, then keep saying it until it gets repeated and starts to gain credence. If someone points out it's false, then just switch tack and say something like "well whoever is charging ?7.50 wherever they are..." as if what you are saying is not false (somewhere) - therefore trying to leave the impression it's not 'really' false!
Or a variation is to set up a straw man - say someone said something or holds a point of view (which they never did) and roundly criticise them for it! Doesn't matter they never said it - what you said they said is so wrong, they must be wrong. Right?

Xoco is a chain.. so presumably yes. But I do not know. Sue.. I do NOT know.

This is where I get accused of witholding information.. :)

Oh FFS.

No. You get accused of withholding information when you hint and imply that you DO know something, but then when asked what you know you beat about the bush and don't give a straight answer.

ETA: Oh. Just saw your smiley. Perhaps I was a tad harsh there, sorry :)

But that doesn't say anything about Xoco being a chain?

And they say they are opening on 23 July but they look forward to seeing us on Thursday???

And I searched on memsaabeastdulwich as suggested and a memsaheb on Thames came up, Memsaab in Islington and Memsaab in High Wycombe, but nothing in East Dulwich.

But if the new restaurant is part of a chain, possibly this is the cause of the confusion.

All very curious.

I clicked on one of the photos on their Facebook page and a restaurant in Dubai came up???

Maybe a Facebook glitch???

ETA: If you want to be at their grand opening and you want 40% off your great modern quality of Indian food on 23 March/July, get in touch with them quick! At the East Dulwich Facebook page, not the Dubai one, obv.

This changeover all seems to have happened rather quickly, to say the least .....

Or this one .....

Memsaab, London Rd, Wooburn Green, High Wycombe HP10 0NJ

I'd like to see the menu on their Facebook page, rather than pictures.

I'm not holding my breath, but I would be extremely delighted if the East Dulwich Memsaab turns out to be a cut above the others on the Lane serving this kind of food ......

    • Why don’t you give us full post code…half of a post code totally useless .. in fact full address. Other end of ED… what other end?
    • I have a sofa of similar age, which used to sag, and I spent a stupid amount of time with the supposed 'DIY' solutions, which are all a waste of time and money. Then I woke up and realised that it can't be rocket science. When you say that the springs have gone, do you know what sort of springs you have? If they are zig zag (sometimes called serpentine) springs then it's an incredibly cheap and easy thing to fix by anyone with a hammer, screwdrivers, possibly pliers, and new springs which can be bought from https://www.jamiltonupholstery.co.uk/product/sinuous-springs-with-fixing-nails/ Obviously you can also get them on that well known website that we're all trying to avoid.  If they are box springs, then you may be able to replace a single spring, or you may have to change the whole unit, still DIYable but you may need a friend to help you. You may even find that a spring has simply come loose and it just needs clipping back into place. Access to the springs may mean undoing the upholstery under the cushions, or it may be that you have to turn the sofa upside down. The feet usually just unscrew and then you can take the dust cover off the bottom to see what's what. There are loads of YouTube videos to help but please DM me if you need any help.
    • I think that sub post offices cannot operate without a formally trained person there, so maybe it closed because there was no trained cover, perhaps through sickness.
