So, anyone had problems with an xbox refusing to read any game disks?

I'd not played it for a while, but turned it on on Sunday, and played for an hour, no probs (although I did think it was slightly slow). Yesterday I turn on, and it just wont read disks. It will read an audio CD, but not a game or DVD.

My daughter has been pressing the on/off button a bit when we've taken our eyes off her, but can't really see how that would damage it. It definitely hasn't had anything spilled on it or anything like that.

Have tried a lens cleaner disk, which has made no difference.

Any ideas? Could it be something as simple as a setting that's been changed accidently, or do I need to go and have it looked at, which will probably cost as much as I paid for it?

I have a real soft spot for this game, its as repetitive as a Status-Quo compilation album but theres something so satisfying about setting fire to dry grassland...wheres me Swan Vesta.

Definitely on the ipad, prices are higher than the old days ? but considering the same game on, say, a DS with lesser graphics often costs best part of ?30 compared with the 2-3 on the pad, it?s still an easy bargain. Especially considering the screen and battery life

Must try that one out tho

Bought Red Dead Redemption. Never really got into any open story games like GTA or Zelda before and always thought I was missing out on something.

Played it for 5 hours or so and I still don't think it is a genre I'll ever go nuts for. The game is really impressive and the scale of it is mental, loads to do and side missions and storylines all over the place. Quite like the hunting and scavaging aspects but it is ultimately unrewarding as it just seems to plod on. Going to perservere and give some serious hours to it to see if it changes my view. I just like games with distinct levels, or missions and I don't like find from a 3rd person perspective.

THe most enjoyment I have had so far is killing Marshalls and seeing how long I can stay alive, a bit like the odd foray into GTA and trying to get the SWAT guys out (i think SWAT can't even remember now!)

Massively - I am sure I have waxed lyrical about Deus Ex before on this thread. I am not sure I'll like it on a console so much but I will purchase this the minute it hit.

COD to come first though from the other studio so might not be great.

Anyone want to swap Red Dead Redemption on the PS3 for anything?

Hello fellow gamers anyone still messing about with MW2 I tend to go-online around 10pm when family is asleep.. feel like a secret lemonade drinker... Would love to get games going with fellow south Londoner's just to see how bad I really am

Quite dusty paws which also made me think perhaps they’d been roaming away from home for a few days. Took photos in case anyone is missing them! Very pretty, friendly long-haired black and white cat, leopard print collar, pink paw-print metal tag. They eventually stopped following us across the road from Mrs Robinson.

    • I just did this survey. There are a number of problems with it. For example, in at least two questions you have an option "other, please specify" but there is no way to specify what the "other" is. Also, you have several questions where if you have nothing appropriate to answer, you get a statement "this is a required question", or words to that effect, so you have to put in something like "nothing" in order to move on. Can I suggest that this is likely to confuse people so they just give up half way through? Maybe you should test it out on a few people before going "live" with it?
