Needham Market is a Ryman League match, the visitors are currently in second place in the table. as The Hamlet continue to push for a play-off spot.

Barkingside is a London Senior Cup tie...a home match against our old & bitter rivals t****g & mitcham united, beckons for the victors in the quarter-finals.

And the Macclesfield Town game sees The Hamlet-only side from our level left in the competition-take on the former Football League side from the National League national division, in the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy. Only two rounds from Wembley....

To be honest I can't really answer that, I've been supporting The Hamlet for almost 43 years now, and when people ask me this I say 'I honestly don't know, it's the way I was brought up as a kid'!

There is a difference, in my opinion, between a local game & local rivalry. For example, a match against, say, Thamesmead Town or Greenwich Borough, would 'be just another game', even though they are local.

Again, my opinion only, rivalries can fluctuate. In the late 1890's to the turn of the last century, when we were playing very local football, I would say our rivalry would have been with Townley Park, but after the great amateur split of 1907, when they chose the AFA route, it became Nunhead FC, who were previously known as Wingfield House. They never came back after the Second World War, & Wimbledon became a big South London rival...t****g & mitcham joined the Isthmian League in the late Fifties, and Wimbledon left it in 1963, to join the professional ranks in the Southern League, so I would guess t*****g evolved as the natural local rivals then.

t*****g are still 'affectionately' referred to by fans of my generation as the 'thugs & muggers'.

There is also a recent dislike/hatred of Leatherhead AKa Levred-SCUM, after 'Wall-gate' in 2013.

He became a fan ("Finally I have found my Isthmian League club") when DHFC tweeted a picture of Trump's inauguration with the legend "We've had bigger crowds at Champion Hill."

That is so useful. (tu)

Wasn't able to get along as suffering with the bug that's doing the rounds. Will(or has) footage be appearing on Dulwich Hamlet T.V./You-Tube ? Can't find it as I post.

I hope they can go on and win the competition, being the only "bona-fide amateur" club still left in it. (I know this is an outdated concept/expression ie: now non-league or semi-professional, but I mean that all the other teams are "ex-league" teams).

It also seems to me that it is weighted against teams such as DHFC (further down the pyramid), with the replays being only a couple of days later and players possibly unable to get time off work at such short notice. Why aren't the replays scheduled for the following week (same thing with Braintree)? Anyone with better in depth knowledge?

    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
    • Dawson Heights again  2 lifts out of order at ladlands block Christmas Eve so of course the 🛗 will not be repaired tomorrow Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when how do elderly or mothers with children and prams and food and presents get to the floors and with the 10 minutes you get to drop off  to park and not get a Pcn fine and delivery food to relatives who can’t leave their house unbelievable Southern housing does any know email address of Coe of southern housing
    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
