Disappointed that the Hamlet's excellent support should be used to disparage support for Jeremy Corbyn (see point 4 of this https://medium.com/@Labour_Pains/13-reasons-not-to-vote-for-jeremy-corbyn-as-leader-of-the-labour-party-11d5656cac88). Might even tip me the other way. Poor analogies can come back and bite you.
The attendances may be up at Champion Hill but we've not yet managed a four figure gate midweek. Fisher have the Monday night slot and boy would they love that sort of gate, rainy or not. Whatever your feelings about Corbyn I doubt any political candidate in this country could attract the sort of attendance for a rally that the author of this article alludes to. Sad really, always have great memories of attending a massed rally for the communists in Bologna that packed out the main piazza with many thousands.

Pseuds Corner anyone?

If you missed yesterday, you didn't miss much, DH took an earlyish lead (apparently a good goal but I only heard the cheer as I walked up through the park) but after that it was pretty uninspiring stuff. Absolutely no width and very Scrappy.

Ref was a total cunt who gave NOTHING our way. Then out of somewhere they added 5 minutes at the end and the bastards equalised with more or less the last kick of the match.

Also gutted to hear that Harry Ottaway has left the club.

Good grief. Reading that Guardian piece makes Hamlet supporters look like completely-up-their-own-arse twunts. What did they do to deserve that?

All it takes is someone not spotting a cyclist coming up at speed.    Clearly, no one wants a collision. so let’s just make it easier to be seen and for everyone to be safe. Bike lights (front and back), helmet lights, reflective strips on your backpack, high visibility clips on the ankles, wrists, lights on your spikes… it’s not hard and it shouldn’t be expensive. I’m just wondering if cyclists haven’t yet adjusted to the darker evenings and don’t actually realise. Perhaps cyclists don’t drive but would benefit from doing so and seeing what it’s like from a drivers point of view.  All cars had lights on.  One of the Boris bikes didn’t, it must have been broken as I thought they were automatic.
    • The other thing is that the money the council makes from the festival is not spent in the local area, whereas money made from events in other parks are. Renata Hamvas would have to approve any change to the premises licence before the events team can consider a license for the proposal in the current form. There needs to be an organised local pushback this time, to at least stop that second weekend being granted. I am thinking along the lines of a door to door petition. There are local elections next May. Lot's of opportunity to make this an election issue for impacted wards around the park. Just need to be orgaised.
    • yes.. I think it has. I prefered it when Everyone Active had the contract..and an additional benefit was being able to acess other EA gyms across London. Plus I think the equipment in the gym was of better quality.
    • Mad that on a thread about the telegraph (and are we saying they  are a paragon of reporting? Are we?) it just happens to be the bbc and only the bbc copping the flak headnun - I’m not sure your point about despicable people “hanging themselves” holds up in a world where despicable people appear to be taking over in so many places  for too long, these people have been given equal airtime to normal people, creating a false equivalence - the result being a lot of people seem to think “well if one person thinks smoking is bad for you and one person thinks it’s good for you, who am I to say who is right and wrong”
