If it's good enough for HonaloochieB then by god it's good enough for you, you brazen pup you

for 15 years I didn't get seinfeld - resented it in fact. But it is most definitely genius

It's not the plots or the "jokes" - it's the internal workings of the characters. The trappings of the era (slap bass and all) can grate but more often add to the charm. And no, his dress sense doesn't get any better

Oh god.. please don't start quoting from Seinfeld. People quoting jubilantly from Seinfeld has put nearly as many people off Seinfeld as, well, the show itself.

Realistically, how much of it do you have to force yourself to watch before you can expect some sort of a return?

This!

George Costanza (the character) makes me laugh the most. Also the mail man... Kramer can be irritating!

What about Curb your enthusiasm *Bob*?

What have you watched so far Bob? I would say don't judge it on the pilot or first few episodes give it a bit of time and it'll eat away at your funny bone. You'll be crying by the final episodes. Nancy Sinatra is supposed to have missed the passing of her father as she was away from his bedside watching the final episode.

Believe me, it was a relief not to find Frasier funny, having seen the average Frasier fan, banging on about 'the script' and screaming with theatrical laughter at the slightly mildly risible occurrence.

Is it because the comedy is just so sophisticated that it takes at least four or five hours of it before mere mortal brains manage to distill what they can into the semblance of a laugh? I suppose it must be.

That's what they say anyway. And boy do they love to say it.

There's a story arc, usually one in an episode and several over a series. Yes it's a bit more sophisticated than your average sitcom but that's part of the joy. Forgive us for intellectualising (sp?!) comedy or should we have a Pol Pot style attitude towards it? ;-)

    • It's also possible that someone is hand feeding foxes and encouraging them by this to approach others. I have heard of foxes attacking young children (if only anecdotally) but not adults. They do seem to attack cats.
    • I've noticed the foxes are very frisky at the moment, it's mating season. Perhaps it was a male fox who saw you as a danger to his vixen and wanted to see you off.
    • I’m not sure how many other people have experienced this; but both me and one of my friends have the same story. Around Crawthew Grove and Crystal Palace Road: I was followed by a large fox right on my heel. At first I didn’t notice because I had my headphones on, but then I noticed my shadow had an extra lump in it, funnily enough, it was a fox, very very close to my feet. Even if I sped up walking it just tried to get closer - it was quite frightening actually, it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me. I didn’t know what to do so, I started to reprimand the fox and walked slowly away from it, facing it - which it didn’t seem to like and backed off a bit. I then proceeded to speed-walk away.   Quite frankly, the whole situation was quite embarrassing and a little bit frightful as I’d never had a fox even come up to me. I’ve heard of particularly curious foxes that might come up to someone who beckons them, and maybe even bite that person, but I’ve never heard of a fox chasing someone. The amount of confidence that it had was incredible.    When it happened, I was on the way to see some friends, and once I had told one of them, she told me the same thing happened to her.  if anyone else knows anything about this bitey fox then let me know!
    • Another recommendation for Andy. I needed an old kitchen removed as an emergency. Andy came over quickly and did a fantastic job. I have used Andy a few times. He is punctual, helpful and always does an  excellent job.
