RD - what was it made me think you were Irish?

The World Cup draw nearly did not happen tonight:

"Two people arrested after discovery of a bomb at the world cup draw".........

Two arrested at World Cup draw

Paddy and Mick were arrested after shouting at a dark skinned man " Oi Thierry, keep your thieving hands off our bomb....."

Ratty, I've always thought the majority of Englands' match going support comes from fans outside of the top Premiership teams, although they won't admit it, most fans want a chance of glory and if their club can't provide it then they look to the national team...

Well it is our first in 29 years ! Might mean little but at least its something at long last, acorns and oak trees

England are now second favourites at 5-1 with William Hill.... "we can win it this time" etc etc

It's always interesting for us non England fans to watch the gradual media hysteria building up down here. The Tartan Army have the opposite problem - we expect to lose! Whilst my prediction is a quarter final exit to Germany on penalties England have to be happy with that draw. Good luck to them though.

    • Sorry to be dim. How are the Greens "peddling sectarianism"? I have googled a definition and I can see how this might apply to Reform 🤬 but I can't see how it applies to the Greens?
    • There  is a dance fit class at Harris girls on a Monday evening 630 pm which I have been going to for years . It is an inclusive class  with a wide range of ages.    The  teacher is Fi and she is amazing and  the classes are lots of fun.   look on the web justdanceuk .com. There are other dance classes  (flowetic )that Fi and the lovely Lizzie runs  at Harris girls too . They also have an event next week which is a bit further- near Penge  which is a day of dance to include  just dance fit, dancehall, line dancing, garage fit and flowetic . Which is also available to book on that website  ( look at the events section) .
    • that’s just been misused first by Faraz and then Starmer. It’s evocative and negative.  But it’s flooding the news today.
    • I didn't realise that either! I thought it just meant division within communities - religious, racial or otherwise.  Yes, it is frightening. The days of the broad church political party are over.
