Jah Lush - as a Rangers fan it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on Hutton... apparently he has let the big brihgt lights of London go to his head and is basically surplus to requirements at WHL. This is a shame as he had a lot of potential - hopefully even the resident Celtic fans will agree...

Is he just not liked by Harry??? Is he just not as good as we thought... I can't really think of many players from the SPL setting the EPL on fire...

On another note - Rangers to go 10 clear tonight when we beat St Mirren 3-0 and Hibs batter Celtic!!!!!!!

Grab that worm Mic Mac and Declan.

I think Hutton's a good player. He's quicker then Corluka and is better going forward. I think Harry likes Corluke though because of his attitude, though he does seem a bit overweight and slow to me. Hutton is in there with Bentley and Pavyluchenko. Harry just doesn't fancy them for one reason or another.

SCSB79 I think we may have met. Didn't we have a conversation about Hutton in the bar of the CPT a month or so back?

Hutton's very quick and as Jimmy said very good going forward. He's had very nasty injury and was out a long time. I like him a lot and rate him highly but if his attitude is bad and Harry doesn't fancy him then his attitude has to change. I think he's played quite well in the last couple of games before last night. He has chance because Corluka does look a little slow and ponderous at times but he's probably more dependable defensively than Hutton.

I'm not predicting anything but I remember the LC Semi's in 69/70. 1st leg 2-1 City, 2nd 2-2. But that was when City had a good team.

It was a cracker from the City perspective as well apart from the last couple of minutes!

We'll concentrate on the league eh? And the FA Cup.

I hope the Man Utd fans who were critical of Rooney yesterday will acknowledge what a great player he really is. Fergie said he thought Rooney played better yesterday then when he scored 4 on saturday. The turn and driven crossfield pass he played that led to the first goal was as good as anything you'll see all season. And he showed the true hallmark of a great player after his miss from Evra's pass, which came at him very fast to be fair. He didn't hide or shirk his reponsibilities and stepped up to the plate to score the winner. That's Class.

Ho ho ho.. But Toshack has put together a young Welsh international team which has included likes of Bale, Collison, Ramsey for a few years now and they try to play football you right way. With Cardiff and Swansea finally coming out of the wilderness the good times may soon be back.

Hurts me to say this but how Fergie has squeezed so much out of this current United team is perhaps his most honest achievement - in previous seasons I've seen other team shoot themselves in the foot or dodgy referees carrying them home but not this year. This morning I begrudgingly say well done on reaching another Wembley Cup Final.

I see Wenger has been acting the football snob again. Criticising Villa for playing long ball football and upsetting O'Neill in the process. Are we all supposed to play football the Arsenal way? Does Wenger honestly think that a style of football which is natural to most of our players is in no way valid ? I never hear Ferguson make those complaints. Deal with it Vinegar face with good grace.

This whole thing about Arsenal playing beautiful football and all the rest are just thugs and blaggards etc. etc. seems to have got out of hand. They do tend to have skillful players at the club and many are a joy to watch. The unbeaten season saw some of the best football from a team I have ever seen and am ever likely to see.

These two facts don't mean that A. Everyone else must fall into line and play their way. B. They don't often come unstuck psychologically against teams they see as being 'stronger' than them. C. They don't try and pass the ball into the net a little too much and D. Hasn't got them a trophy for a few seasons. I don't get all the holier than thou stuff. Play the game, play the team you are matched against that week and play to your strengths. That's all you can do.

David Lacey in the 80s on a certain football team...."On days like this, West Ham can reasonably be considered a gift from the East End to civilsation" after we beat Newcastle on sunny saturday playing superb football.... no surprise, we won bugger all that season

Bill Shankly in the 70s - "West Ham - lovely football, lovely players...2 points to Liverpool"

Pretty means nothing.

    • Don't think there'll be much glee around today with what's happened in Poland and France 😕
    • Sounds a horrible, random attack, quite possibly for social media clicks, or some kind of sick initiation into goodness knows what - it is reported they were filming the incident. I do not really doubt that any of this is true. Perhaps the friend who reported it elsewhere does not want to be identifiable? There has been an emerging issue with different types of anti-social teenage/ young adult behaviour on the Rye this summer and this latest incident indicates a tipping point into something much nastier. The park should be a safe and enjoyable space for all.
