You could apply that to Celtic too at the mo. Roobish. Mowbray has won fewer games than John Barnes did at this stage of season!

Shenanigans going on at Pompey today. Club to fold next week if new owner not found. Some lawyer unconnected to the club but connected to the owner is hawking Kaboul, Begovic and Belhadj round any club that might want them. I think there might be a riot in Portsmouth soon!

Probably will not still be around to play Saints in the cup!

Spot on - could not agree more.

He has at least bought a "box player" in the January window. Might help convert some of the possession into goals.

i'm wondering if you and I watch the same tottenham hotspur.....kaboul was a frightening liability when he played for spurs. it was a miracle portsmouth paid us good money for him.

However; as he does with so many seemingly lost causes, harry managed to coax a decent player out of him, and now he looks worth having in the squad.

I quite like Kaboul, he did make some awful defensive blunders whilst at Spurs in his first season in English football but the game is a lot different than in France and takes some getting used to. He's improved since going to Portsmouth and as a young player still has more to learn. You don't get to be the France Under-21 captain if you aren't any good.

What does look to be a good deal though in the short term is the arrival on loan from Monaco of Eidur Gudjohnsen. He is top quality who can play in the midfield or up front as a centre-forward or just behind the main striker. It'll give Spurs plenty of more options going forward as I think Crouch, as good as he is at what he does is a little limited in his movement. Surely the end for Pavlyuchenko though.

As for Robinho - what a waste of money. He was already struggling to get into the first team at Real Madrid before Man City amazingly paid ?32m for him. He's got to be one of the laziest most selfish players ever. All that skill going to waste. Shame on him because he's let himself down more than anything.

Rio Ferdinand 4 match ban... hmm... but more to the point what are the FA going to do about the yob culture at Old Trafford. Chucking coins and bottles at a player whilst trying to take a corner is no joke. United have come out with the usual statements about life bans but it seems there is trouble with United supporters all too often. I believe that is the 3rd time this month alone they have brought violence to a football ground (following on from their visits to St Andrews and Eastlands).
You'd think the Manure "fans" would be chucking money at the Glazers ! Seriously, that was a disgrace- I know some of our lot can be bad but but The MU crowd are getting worse- 11 arrests before and after the game and 6 arrests made over the flare incident. The FA should ban them from Wembley, sorry to true fans but its a lesson that has to be taught.

    • While they struggle with economics of UK plc, collectively we all suffer as a result of their ineptitude.
    • I’ve tried to find details of surgeries being held before but not found any. The section of the Southwark website that details councillors’ surgeries says that: Your locally elected Councillors will be holding a roving surgery programme in the Dulwich Hill area to enable residents to raise any local issues. Residents will be notified by letter in advance of the date, time and specific streets/roads where the surgery will take place.  Surgeries are not held in August, on Bank Holidays, Easter or in Christmas Week.  Dulwich Hill Ward Councillors I’ve never seen any notification of surgeries being held, including on the DH councillors’ social media accounts. I don’t know if any other residents of Dulwich Hill have? Neighbouring wards all seem to have times and places posted for surgeries.
    • I wouldn't feel too bad about that. It's one of the few degree areas that you can do a BA or a BSc in, so it's a fairly wide-ranging and complex subject. Certainly Truss, Kwasi and Reeves seem to struggle with it.
    • I can't access the article - what's the gist?  I took the markets getting jittery when she was crying at PMQs to be a sign that they trusted her. But maybe it was because they were simply worried about any form of instability.  The NIC hikes have stymied the economy, which we could all see a mile off. Will a wealth tax improve things? Does anyone here think the trickle down has any impact and that chasing out the super rich will help things? Or are we just seeing off the biggest contributors to the economy? And has the Kwasi approach ever worked anywhere else?  Economics is not my strong point at all, I'd love to know others' opinions, but it seems to be she has few options, especially as the party is so divided.
