Keef
Dont get me wrong Jah, I'd love Spurs to win the CL. The only thing thats wound me up this season is the way the fans have often talked like they're old hands at being a top team, rather than on an exciting journey on the way up. Dont know what it is about Arsenal, but I just never get excited about them these days, I preferred the team of the late 90s as they were exciting. Yes Arsenal play great football, but it's somehow too clinical for my tastes. Still, I'd rather them than United or Chelsea, especially given the latter's recent signing. Mick Mac
I think Jah has been more than modest this season considering how well Spurs have been doing. Atticus
Why are LFC fans so outraged by Torres? ok, great player, loved the club blah, blah, blah...Do they think that their club is above such disloyalty? This is modern-day football with modern-day footballers with modern-day footballer's attitudes. Keef
I agree with you. Personally I'm not outraged, just gutted over the way he's gone about it, and his attitude on the pitch (sulky little girl). Emerson Crane
The days of the one club player are long gone, I sort of understand the outrage, but stopped being outraged and surprised by the mercenary attitude of modern day players years ago Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/281/#findComment-487864 Share on other sites

Funny how he always seemed to score against Chelsea isn't it. If I was Roy Hodgson I'd be really pissed off because he obviously didn't want to play for him. 'bout now
There are a lot of one club players still around though, Man Utd have 3, Liverpool have 2 even Chelsea have one. Jah Lush
That's six players. Not a lot really is it. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/281/#findComment-487867 Share on other sites
murphy
Utd have six, apart from Giggs, Scholes and Neville, they also have Fletcher, O'Shea, and Brown. They have the advantage of success though so players only tend to move when Fergie decides - only excpetion I can think of isRonaldo. Emerson Crane
Keef, loved the sulky little girl comparison, also adopted by the likes of Drogba, Anelka, Ronaldo, Henry, Cantona, Bellamy, Ginola, Berbatov in the past, to name but a few. 'bout now
you're right it's not a lot, its just more than I thought.Actually thinking about one club players, is it any worse now than in the last thirty years or so, i'm not sure it is. Emerson Crane
I think it is, the financial incentives involved with a move are far greater now than they were 20 or 30 years ago Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/281/#findComment-487873 Share on other sites

Keef
Perhaps rather than one club men, we should think of 10 years plus at a particular club. Probably a load of players have started at smaller clubs, before going on to play for a bigger club for years.
