Men and women...Mixed Footie at Peckham Rye Park

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone....Please remember that the meeting time for footie on Saturdays is at 11am....lots have been coming thinking it starts at 11.30 but it is actually 11. Please try to get there on time so that the people that do get there punctually are not standing around for ages waiting for everyone to show up. Looking forward to seeing you all...My last day as an official East Dulwich resident tomorrow.
I love the football team too!! But at this rate, I'm considering revisiting my old life as a WAG! I don't think I will make tomorrow :( I've sustained yet another injury, so I might give it a miss this week. Hopefully see you all tomorrow, but probably not! Unless we're doing another photo shoot and then it will literally take me 5mins to get some slap on and get down there!

Ditto.

Get that knee and back sorted soon, binary.

I'll be there from 7:15 tonight

If any newcomers fancy joining us there is plenty of room! We play from 7.30pm - 9.00pm and it's ?5 per session.

Could whoever has the ball not forget to bring it or we might end up with a very short session ;-)

Back = done! Knee = still done in I think :(

I can't complain really I'm just being a girl's blouse about it. I think I'm gonna pop down tonight and see how I get on.

No slap on though, I've come up with a foolproof plan should another photo opportunity arise and I miss it:

It's a pretty good likeness I think you'll all agree, so I'm sure we could photoshop that into the group picture!

Hahahahaha!

Hopefully, you'll survive the game and feel great. However, should you find you are unable to continue, rather than wait in the cold until you-know-who has finished playing, feel free to pop around. A couple of friends will be here with some fish, chips and mushy peas.

As for that "likeness"...dodgy-looking bosoms aside...quite, quite, astonishing.:))

How was the game?

And what has happened to our only fan - Alan Medic? Have you switched allegiance Doc? I sincerely hope you haven't crawled over to another side.

Come on Old Fart, if you've decided that fannying about is no longer for you, you should come out and play!

The game was good LM although wet sand isn't my favourite surface to play on lol. Would have helped if I wasn't flailing around like Quasimodo as well but at least I rested my knee enough to play tonight. JAGS girls asking after you... you mix in too many footie circles woman!

Btw is anyone doing anything this weekend for Hallowe'en? Drinks? Parties? If so, why the fuck haven't we been invited haha!!! Well if anyone's up for a drink let us know...

Shouldn't laugh, but I now have this vision of Quasiwotsit thrashing about in wet sand! Were you goalie?

You went to JAGS too?! Well done you! Just goes to show that you were being a big girl's blouse after all...tee hee... fingers crossed that the knee remains good.

Have the JAGS sessions progressed to too high a level yet? I am hoping not. Gosh I miss going! Nice bunch (please say hello back when you next go).

Re. Halloween, I've got half a bottle of meths in my shed - any good? You could always make one of your specialist alcoholic jellies with it...:))

    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
    • I would also like to add my recommendation for James.  I had taken four names of electricians from the forum - in the order I had read the reviews.  First three no response - even days later. I phoned James this morning. He answered, gave me a time, stuck to it, messaged again 15 mins before arrival.  He fixed my problem on the spot.  Sensible charge out fee. Perfect service.
    • Most recent polls for the next election suggest it will be a hung parliament, with Reform the largest party by a fair margin. But that is predicated on Reform finding around 300 candidates who are actually electable. Given the number of Reform council candidates who have had to drop out prior to or after the local elections, does that seem likely? Social media is pretty unforgiving when it comes to finding skeletons in cupboards; a retweet or a like seems enough to scupper political ambitions. A few may defect from other parties, but do you think the electorate would really vote for so many brand new MPs from a newish party?  I'm not so sure.
