Damian, I think that since you have started a thread on this very forum

here

one would not have to go far to identify your "business interests."

I also think that as that thread indicates that your business specifically involves pregnant women, who are at quite a vulnerable time of their life in some respects, then it is legitimate - and not irrelevant - to question why you have a whole series of quite aggressive (and in some cases childish) posts on this thread, including apparently dissing the actions of local mothers (plus another thread in the lounge headed "Mary Portas - Sexist Old Trout?".)

If I was expecting a baby and looking for a hypnotherapist, and saw your business thread, I might well check out your other posts on this forum, which as Helena has said is very easy to do just by clicking on your name.

And then - well, I leave you to guess what I would do.

Admin, I realise you have asked people not to make personal comments on this thread, but as the other posts are still here, I think it is only fair to point out the above.

I do not think selling pizza by the slice constsitutes catering for kids...

Pizza is one of the Least Healthy foods you can get..or give to a child.

High in Saturated Fat & Salt. White Bread Flour.

Full of High GI Carborhydrates thate creates peaks in blood sugar.

Top that up with a cola.

and people wonder why the kids are becoming overweight and are developing type 2 diabetes..

Perhaps Admin should delete the thread so that people stop trying to have the last word. It's all becoming very tedious and moving away from the point of the thread.

I agree, the posts are extremely aggressive and quite disturbing. Seems the vent is more often or not aimed at mums and babies (distinctly remember the parent parking thread).

If I recall, the mums (and dads) demanding special parking privileges didn't come across terribly well in that one. Probably not a good choice for an example.

There were kids (and buggies) in there yesterday afternoon, and all very well behaved. The kids, not the buggies.

Not a scream or an obstruction in earshot or sight.

Yes but the rest of you keep banging on about it and baiting him. It would be far better if you (and he) would stop now.

i have kids, i love taking my kids out to eat. i have been in bars in ED, cafes or gastro pubs and have been both pleased at how some parents deal with their children and been shocked at how some parents take no control of them. i have also tolerated parents shouting at their kids to come back, above everyone else rather than get up and actually deal with their children running up and down the length of the cafe.

i have spoken to managers of bars mentioned in this thread who are appalled at how some families let their kids run riot in places, even after being asked politely to keep them under control.

i would therefore suggest that as fact: some parents control their kids = no problem, others don't = a right pain.

as for this thread/this forum. i used to be quite active but gave up because it very quickly gets personal and nasty. i've only read the last 2 pages but that was enough for me...

but sue your pick up on the posters work after admin clearly asked people to stop is shameless, whatever lame reason you put in there for ignoring the request.

Also agree - succinct and to the point.

Excuse me?

I felt it was a completely legitimate and relevant post in the circumstances. I do not agree that my reason for posting was "lame".

If admin doesn't want certain posts included on this thread, it is up to him to remove them, and/or to admonish the people posting them. He hasn't contacted me regarding that post.

And - who has brought the topic up again after many posts since? You have! What hypocrisy!

Not to mention that you have also ignored admin's request not to make things personal!

So I suggest that you now let this thread go back to being about the subject originally raised, ie babies and prams in pubs :)

And yes, before anyone points it out, I am also guilty of going off-topic, but I really couldn't let that comment go, sorry. As you were :)

Ah, Troll O'clock I see. yawn.

maybe 1/10 for effort.

Well said, Large.

I was having a drink in the Horsemeat & Ricketts near Elephant and I couldn't help but admire how all the little soot-faced cockernee rugrats - fresh from being pushed up a chimney - rubbed along so well with the old syphilitic alcoholics. It was a joy to behold.. the little ones listened solemnly to stories about the war, were silent except when spoken to and drank their gin without too much beating.

We could all learn something from them.

    • This is horrible to hear about. We used to get daily Police patrols on foot & even regular patrols on horseback in the area. I know our local station had some bad eggs, but the officers I came across in the area back then were all a fantastic bunch. Sadly nowadays the Met's presence is non-existent, bar the weekly walk from the SNT. I hope something gets done, arrests made and the victim some genuine support and counselling.
    • Two wrongs don't make a right. Labour ran on a manifesto of "we aren't like them" and "we are different" and"you can trust us/we will restore faith in politics". They are doing nothing to convince anyone that any of those promises are being met - they are letting everyone down. u-turning on everything and are fast-tracking the doomsday scenario of a Reform government. Even the runway on the "it's all the Tories fault" is running out. I dislike politicians because they cannot be trusted and Rayner just highlighted that with ribbons on. She should have been so careful after the focus on the electoral roll issues she had with the house in Ashton-under-Lyne and then under a year later this comes up. Clearly the advice she took included a recommendation to take proper advice that she failed to do - that's just daft and the most galling thing is that she didn't just resign when this came up - she tried to spin out of it but must have known she was toast. Trust is fast being eroded. I desperately want Labour and Starmer to fix this because the alternative it too scary to think about but the way things are going they are fast-tracking Farage into No.10. Labour are letting us all down.
    • Same can be said for the current and prior governments
    • Good afternoon, We are looking for a gardener to tidy up our climbing rose. It is very high, so the work will require someone with a tall ladder. can you please recommend anyone?  thanks s
