me - being a dog, I am hiding indoors and laying an extra layer of loft insultation in preperation for the harsh winter that the weather man is predicting


Ohhhh there goes another bang, I think I just wet myself with fear - grrr (please make sure your pets are looked after this weekend and not left alone in fear !) >:D<

They have been set to music before.


And 25 minutes (sadly, I looked at my watch!)


But I agree, very good - and FREE!


Though it was a pity there weren't more 37s laid on, after the first one which came didn't even pick people up from the ED bus stop as it was so full, we walked down to the park, but I wonder how many people missed the display due to not being able to get on a bus and not being able to walk.

I've been going to Brockwell Park fireworks for the last decade at least,

and I only recall music two years ago, which wasn't that great, more of a background

annoyance really. Last night on the other hand, there was an attempt to choreograph the display,

which worked pretty well.

Have to agree to disagree over the length, I thought it had finished after 25, but then the finale started up.

It was very busy, I hope everyone managed to make it on time, the 37 isn't to be relied upon at the best

of times, and a 30 minute walk would have been a bit long for some.

      If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.

      Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
