I have a minty NC30/VFR 400

Only, it's in my mum's lock up in NW8 as I don't feel happy about leaving it on the street around here - especially after the rescent stories of youths pushing over bikes

Shame really because the hour long journey into town on the number 12 bus is doing my head in !!!

Mr Asset says:

We once rode round France (and I mean the perimeter) in '95 and Asset found the pillion so comfortable she nearly fell asleep several times. It was a great machine, classic muscle bike (the first Suzuki 4 stroke), although whilst the same colour, it had flatter bars, three discs and alloy wheels.

Still, one reason I don't have one now is because I would never cycle (and get fat).

Have recently sold my Yamaha Fazer 600 - returned to full time education this year and, do you know, they make you pay tuition these days!?! ;-)

Anyway, temporarily without-bike :(

Still, graduation and decent money now only 3.5 years away, then a dream purchase beckons: triumph sprint ST 1050...

I also own a vespa - but a baby ET2 50CC. Does the job nicely - commute into Holborn in 25 mins door to door - zips past those buses a treat!!!

At the Green fair last week they had an electric scooter/bike - Zippy or something. Anyone got one of them? Top speed is a fantastic 20 KPH - but realistically how often do you get to drive much faster (Average here - I'm sure none of you with big grown-up bikes are one of those lovely types who revs up to full speed between lights cos they can, then brake and I catch them up every time!!)

    • But a larger number, in a more hotly contested election, didn't. It is an anomaly that Starmer won a landslide in seats with a turnout for Labour which would have shamed Labour leaders in all the 21st and much of the post war 20th century.
    • I was not suggesting anything else!   I'm not sure how you interpret what I said  as "irrelevant"? I was responding to a post saying that Corbyn was "unelectable". My point was that a  large number  of the electorate  voted for him!
    • that's exactly what happened - Brickhouse were forced to close due to rent hike and then Gail's didn't move in until covid restrictions lifted and normality resumed. Gail's would have opened much sooner as they were lined up and able to offer the landlord much higher rents. Brickhouse was a local favourite
    • The Brickhouse closed just before Covid December 2019. Nothing to do with Gails muscling in as they didn't move into till December 2022. Stop trying to fit a false narrative into a story
