tfwsoll
It's been a sad weekend in musical history. A day apart in 1964 and 1967 we lost two exceptionally talented artists. So here's in memory of Sam Cooke, 22nd January 1931, died 11th December 1964 and Otis Redding 9th September 1941 - 10th December 1967: Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20922-sam-cooke-and-otis-redding/ Share on other sites
Jah Lush
Two supreme soul voices. As singers go it doesn't get much better than these two. Townleygreen
Agreed. They were great. I remember Otis's demise though not Sam's unfortunately. MrBen
Possibly the two greatest male singers of the last 50 years. Hearing Sam Cooke in that kind of live set up gives me goose bumps - it is sublime. Both gone way too early.... tfwsoll
Glad to see there's some fellow soulsters out there. That live Sam Cooke album is amazing - I'm not sure that I know of another artist that could do a nearly 3 minute intro to a song and without losing the audience. Parkdrive
Absloutely devine voices, but I prefer Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. Marvin was the sweetest soul, greatly missed.
