Best Places to Eat

Hey,

Need some recommendations for a nice intimate place as me and my partner this Saturday, preferably around the Dulwich, Herne hill area.

All suggestions welcome!

I find that Roca in Dulwich village is pretty good, also Mr.Bao can be pretty nice too.

Is it actually a pop-up inside Blue Mountain Cafe? Or has Blue Mountain closed, and they've taken the premises? (sorry, I don't get over that way much these days)

Mr Bao is indeed delicious, but extremely small and very difficult to get a table, in our experience.

ETA: Another vote for Franklins here!

Yes Moxons Next Door is lovely if you can get the table at the back, as is quite close to other tables inside.

Half Moon Tavern in Herne Hill too. And The Florence.

Not that intimate, but went to Taco Queen on Rye Lane at the weekend. Best nachos and tacos I've had in London. Well worth a visit.

The Florence isn't exactly intimate (hints of scaffolding) and the prices are silly - two glasses of white, ?18.20 recently.

For a more informal, cosy kind of intimate, a corner in Cafe Prov or perhaps the garden room at the Picturehouse.

I like Il mirto on Melbourne Grove, really nice food, reasonably priced
