At last this site has been taken and the "let by" sign is up by HHP. People doing some work in there today, after such a long time it has been unnoccupied does anyone know what its going to be?

Its defo not going to be cafe' rouge, that idea was blown out of the water in the area.

:)

hi karter - i thought if anyone knew you would! there has been some low key clearing out going on in there for about a week; it's classed A1 i presume so [bearing in mind the fracas over nero's hot panini] it won't be food.

Best place for lager is the Greek deli in LL at the Goose Green end, six cans of Stella or Red Stripe for a fiver - and it does organic wine, as well :)-D

Actually it went into administration and Threshers bought the Unwins stores. They probably closed it cos they already had one over the road.

and if it is indeed an 'open debate' then surely the option of deciding not to debate it but to look forward to a pleasant New Year's surprise must also be open for debate ... no?

No, didn't know that. Is there no end to their empire building? I really like the coffee they sell in the Cheese Block, oh and some of the cheese too.

    • Don't think there'll be much glee around today with what's happened in Poland and France 😕
    • Sounds a horrible, random attack, quite possibly for social media clicks, or some kind of sick initiation into goodness knows what - it is reported they were filming the incident. I do not really doubt that any of this is true. Perhaps the friend who reported it elsewhere does not want to be identifiable? There has been an emerging issue with different types of anti-social teenage/ young adult behaviour on the Rye this summer and this latest incident indicates a tipping point into something much nastier. The park should be a safe and enjoyable space for all.
