where are they ?

I had a couple of those annoying things crawling under my table in the plough, it's the second time it happened in just a few days.

enough! they just stare and wait for me to smile at them.

I don't, I'm not one of them, I've never been.

I don't smile at children. There is no logical reason to do so.

why can't I find a pub without children ?

if dogs have to stay out, why won't children too?

Have to agree with Azul, went for a quiet drink in the Plough recently, only to walk into a creche! As a mother myself , its not the presence of children I object to; rather the fact they are allowed to run unsupervised , making as much noise as they like! It is inconsiderate towards others and rather bad mannered, I always took stuff to amuse and distract mine so they did not disturb others. All common courtesy really!

We like you, Azul.

And totally agree with 2degrees (great nick!) it's not all children, just those whose parents let them think that everywhere they go they can scream and shout and that someone else will take care of them!

To be fair the Clockhouse is mostly childfree most days.

If you popped into the Plough on a Friday afternoon, that's when they run their increasingly popular mum and baby group. Dont think it's that bad at other times.

Er, going to the pub and not wanting kids around doesn't automatically make you a special brew drinking alcoholic :-S

Lol, am fully aware that there is a Dad's and Toddlers sess friday afternoons and therefore choose to go elsewhere if I'm lucky enough to get the chance to drink on a Friday afternoon! Was a weekend when I visited!

Had stopped using the clockhouse cos it became too creche -like at the weekends, perhaps it's time to become a regular again, ta muchly for the info!

Where in that post did I call Azul an alcaholic?

took me years of nasty hangovers, watch my growing belly, and gain my status.

I'm one, and proud of it.

and I hope this year, I can became a smoker again.

never been a child, though.

I've always been this size and been this old.

I think I'm now declaring the CPT as my local,

but someone mentioned clockhouse.

what and where is that ?

I have never seen any kids in there but I did once see a heavily pregnant woman drinking in there. She even sang Phil Collins' Easy Lover on Karaoke- true story.

She's not been back in since the smoking ban though.

    • Hello.  A parcel for someone at 64B Blenheim Grove has been dumped at my address.  If anyone from 64B is in this forum, please get in touch!
    • CPR Dave is anti-dogs. Each to their own  I think my dog has perhaps grown a bit less nervy about the fireworks in the last few weeks, interestingly. Our last dog had no problems with them until he reached old age, when he became petrified.  CPR Dave - it's not just sounds of the metropolis they hate, mine collapses in fear when he hears thunder too
    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
