hirstian
Yup - also down Friern Road about 3am - Thursday morning I think. Must have been going pretty fast given the horrible noise. A bit unreasonable given the warm night wiith many having windows open, must have woken up many families... hirstian
Springtime - not sure what your sarcastic, unpleasant response is all about, or your motivation for the post. I suspect that many families were kept awake that night, by what was clearly at best, unthinking anti-social behaviour - its not btw a main road in (your words) a big big city - its a quiet area in a suburb at a time when people are sleeping. I understand we sign up for lots of this when we live in London and we can't really do anything about, but this forum is for sharing these experiences nonetheless. Maybe someone knows who the person is and can help prevent it happenign again. Maybe not - but either way, your input isn't particularly helpful... Humdinger
Perhaps vehicles such as mopeds should be banned from the roads between 0000-0600 in the East Dulwich area, least they wake up an unfortunate person trying to get some sleep in their nice house. Let them ride around Peckham and wake residents there up instead. JohnL
Motorbikes are louder than cars and buses these days - they accelerate to get away from the traffic and it's quite a roar if you're four floors up. bobbsy
Some scooters and motorcycles riding around the area are obscenely loud. The trend these days is for Moto-GP style short stubby silencers which do not have road legal baffles. There are no noise tests at higher revs for motorcycles during MOT. Even if there were, silencers are easily and quickly changed prior and post MOT.However it looks like these are coming, so maybe the days are numbered.https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-noise-camera-trial-to-crack-down-on-illegal-vehicles Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/236540-noisy-moped/#findComment-1368737 Share on other sites
