i have merged them into one "spacebook", but i think it makes it sound to exciting.

the things is, as this article points out, once you've signed up they never actually shut your account, all your details are kept live and can be viewed by 'interested' parties. a friend went back after leaving and couldn't believe that his account remained in tact and they automatically mailed all his buddies to let them know he was back.

I'm seriously debating deleting my account. I blame MySpace and Facebook (especially FB) for my increasing lack of productivity and a complete mental block I've developed about using the phone. My abject fear of awkward silences has spiralled out of control and now I barely phone anyone. It's ridiculous! And a little disturbing as it's so irrational and stupid

I find it all too banal really.

Also if the only contact a friend has with me is to poke me, zombie bite me, or send me a fish, then they are not a real friends. If we cant just bloody meet up and catch up in person then bugger off I say! I only use it to share photos of big nights out or festivals etc and even that bores me.

I re-hooked up with an old friend of mine from when I lived in Canada as a kid. We had written to eachother until I was about 22 and then lost touch, so I'm happy Facebook exists. Also people I know from other areas that I don't see much anymore. I like knowing what they are up to without having to call them.

for many, its virtual bling for one dimensional pram dodgers ( those whithout kids yet )

show everyone how lovely you are/ how many holidays you go on/ how popular you are/ how many slebs you are friends with

its the offsping of new romantisicm / the face/ thatcher ( right kids )/ mobile phone "culture" / loadsamoney / x factor / big brother/ pete waterman / saucy weather girs on ITV without any qualifcations / etc etc etc

to be fair tho, the guardian does portray it as some kind of Bond villain conspiracy, when in reality, its just to make monety from the willing victims out there

It was a bit of a laugh for a month or two. A few comedy faces from the past crawled out of the woodwork and made it all worthwhile.

The only thing it's good for now is photo-sharing, but when the few of my friends who can be bovvered to post them stop being bovvered to post them, that'll be IT.

    • It may be worth consulting your vet. If she's diabetic & on medication, she will have missed 1-2 doses. It's a relief to hear that she's home, & I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
    • The swimming lessons at JAGS Sportsclub are very popular, and the gym there might meet your needs. Southwark took over running its leisure centres from everyone active a while back and so far seems to be making a real mess of things. There’s lots of private gyms and other council ones in Lewisham and Lambeth so depending on exactly where you’re going to be you can look at those. JAGS and Dulwich College both have sports clubs with nice facilities, but you can’t use them during the school day. Check their sites for details.

What amazes me is the similarity in every way to Gala - large areas annexed but the council trying to convince everyone it's only a tiny part of the park. Claiming that the flora & fauna is being protected when the reality is a tick-box environmental survey that's not worth the paper it's written on. All very depressing.

Delivering a reliable service is our top priority, and I am very sorry that your constituent has cause for concern. I am always disappointed when I hear that any of our customers do not feel that they are receiving the service that they ought to. Following your communication, I contacted the Customer Operations Manager at Peckham Delivery Office. They have advised me that there are no current issues with the delivery of mail to addresses on Chadwick Road. They have confirmed that mail deliveries are taking place six days a week, when there is mail available to be delivered, and I am assured that there is no mail currently awaiting delivery. If at any point a delivery round cannot be completed on a particular day, for example we may have a shortage of staff, the unit will ensure that the address will become the priority the following working day. I hope that this reply is helpful. As always if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours sincerely Michael Hogg Senior Public Affairs Manager   This was the reply the MP sent me regarding lack of post.
