Whichever store you buy it from, their bread baked instore always comes with a cavernous cavity/air pocket through the loaf. It's a joke, and I've lost count of how many times I've taken it back for a refund, where I'm met with reluctance. Save yourself money and time by avoiding the bread baked instore by any branch belonging to these charlatans. DKH is no exception.

There are many reasons why modern life is rubbish.

It may be due to men not routinely wearing ties and hats any more.

My late father blamed it on the first world war where women started to be treated fairly in the work place.

I personally blame it on supermarket bread. Up until 30 years ago there was not the technology for them to bring in semi-finished loaves to complete the job in store. You had to go to a real bakers. The rest is history.

You can also correlate the increase in crime rate with margarine consumption

    • Is it the smell of council officers pooping themselves over the two recent court defeats at Lambeth and what it could mean for Southwark?  🤣
    • Needed a new rear roof for terrace house in East Dulwich and heard about Danny Denton (07943 673482). Have worked with over 20 builders in the past but this guy was way the best - polite, hard working, honest, professional, informative, highly skilled and above all quoted lower than any of the others who came down to view the job. If you need roofing work I would definitely give him a call. If he's busy working else where I assure you he is well worth waiting for. He got the scaffold up and job finished in no time and kept me informed at every stage. Another roofer (who appears on this forum) gave a quote which was three times higher than Danny's.
    • I noticed that today too, at that corner of the Alleyn's field. Isn't it just the same as the habitual one from the school field in Greendale, just after the rail bridge?  I've never quite fixed on how and exactly where that one's coming from, but have mentally tagged it as cut grass probably fermenting.
