Unfortunately Charlie PeckhamGateCrasher beat you to it! Woz really funny though and well worth another watch

Mine was for a timber wholesaler in Letchworth, shown at the old fashioned Broadway cinema.

It had none other than Scruffy McGuffy in it, and we all felt a surge of pride everytime we saw such a famous and important chap starring in a local ad.

ps loving the WATN for Claire Scott, a girl who single handedly left me with a pyschologically damaging attraction to terrible peroxide perms for many years:

"After leaving Grange Hill in 1985, Paula continued acting, making appearances in TV series like ?Spender? and various British films. In 1988, Paula caused a stir by appearing topless for a special photo shoot in Mayfair magazine. Paula continued to act into the early 1990s, but is now rumoured to be married with children and working in a shoe shop."

My favourite ads are the ones they used to do (alas no more) for Benson & Hedges and Silk Cut.

I was fascinated by the ads when I was a kid ... which I guess is why I took up smoking!

Indeed.. (*trivia alert*) a commercial directed by one of the few ad directors who have gone on to make a half-decent feature film - Sexy Beast.

They're all wannabee film directors at heart..

I thought the B&H ads were a cut above, especially the one with a tin of fish with the 'gold' lid turned back that would frequently be seen on hoardings. One wag scribed on it in large letters 'SARDINES GIVE YOU CANCER'

    • Personally, I would like to see labour do something positive for the country, unfortunately under Starmer and Reeves the opposite is true. Change of leadership.is now required, not a general election at this stage but if Starmer and Reeves stay in post then the May local elections will give Reform more power.  Now is the time for change and damage limitation , not after May when large number of reform local councillors will be voted in as a protest against this Government.

    • More let off last night, early evening. I do not ever recall hearing fireworks on such a regular basis at this time of year. For those walking dogs after dark, this must be of concern.
