Ahhh. Have just searched lindylou and now it's starting to make sense.

She's the person on this thread http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,77467,78165#msg-78165 who didn't really get dulwichmum.

Does anyone feel like going over to West Dulwich to explain satire?

I also didn't understand this post from lindylou on the Ask Admin thread

"I sincerely hope my thread re single and over 50 didn't cause concern. I am new to this forum and merely hoped to start maybe a friendship coffee meeting or pub meeting"

you see what I mean? It combines consideration for others and not wishing to cause offence AND yet no recognition of the fact that there have been dozens of pub meetings on here. Why not come along to one of those?

I am the Middle Class Middle-woman.....I am in East Dulwich and have been everywhere else I have lived...in answer to your question.

Now what to do about us snobby 3 wheeler types that the WDF think we all are....should we invite the WDF over the The Herne for a sunday lunch? bring the kids....or what about the mum and baby sessions at The Palmerston, maybe that's something that would interest them?....we only want to compare buggies after all. Chit chat, you know the type of thing.

The West Dulwich lot are so posh they don't need to clean up after themselves.

Worms, Verrucas, Headlice and the rest are the norm in the Village.

I avoid Jags and Dulwich college Swimming pool at all costs, the amount of kids that go swimming with verrucas and not wearing a protective sock is shocking, they have no regards for other people.

Also washing your hands after using the loo is not a done thing in the Village hence the constant worm problem.

How do I know? Ahhh us nannies know a lot of things you know;-)

And don't even get me started on how two faced most of them there are...that goes for the mums AND the nannies!

HeidiHi, what rubbish, you think worms, headlice and verrucas are only in the Village?

Have you been checking all the kids' feet at the swimming pools to back up that comment about non-sock wearing?

Such inverted snobbery and sweeping generalisations are crass.

Nope It is not only in the Village but there is a hell of a lot of it going on in the village!

If I was a snob I would be saying that the East Dulwich Lot were germy and riddled with everything since after all the West Dulwich lot is meant to be the 'Posh' side!

And regarding the sock wearing...yep I have actually! How? because quite a few of my nanny friends have kids going to those schools and they do not get checked for verrucas. My brother and his friend joined the College gym also, and my brother does the weights, his friend does swimming, and guess what? his friend picked up a verrucas! No lie!

So please, unless you work in my capacity or you know my circle of friends, and where we work and what we do, I suggest you dont make suggestions about what I know and what I see.

If you are not checking the kids' feet how do you know that the amount of children with verrucae that go swimming without protective socks is shocking?

Gyms and changing rooms all over are rife for spreading verrucae as moist or cracked skin is more susceptible to the virus. It is generally children and teenagers that get them anyway which is why a school has lots.

My son goes to school in the village and has never had any of the ailments you mention, so I do have a degree of experience in the field.

It is your inverted snobbery that I get irritated by. Worms and headlice have no class barriers and I don't think it is worse there than anywhere else.
