Is anyone local making fabric face masks.

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been making fabric masks for a friend who works for the N.H.S. I am attaching a photo of an adult and a child mask I have made. They are made from 100% cotton and can be washed at 60 degrees. I can make them in coloured/patterned fabric also. Call me on 07956527824 or email me at [email protected] if you would like to discuss and place an order.

Yes Really Maria is very busy making all sorts of colourful face masks, and is open for delivery/collection by knocking on her shop front door. She is inside masked and socially distancing. I think you can order via her website, or by calling her mobile. There are details on her shop front too. Good luck.

I can respect that she?s busy, I ordered through her website for delivery (I have two kids that are staying home) I just wish it had said on the website that the delivery would be so long as 10 days later I am still mask less :-(

The delay is probably due to the very disrupted Royal Mail service (see various threads on here) rather than Really Maria. I opted for the 'collect in store' option (actually the dry cleaners as Maria's shop isn't open) and picked them up on the same day, so would recommend this option for anyone able to go out.

    • Vans are restricted to one hour a day 8:30 to 9:30 and have to be pre-booked.  So long as you went with and were able to show the right ID then I doubt it would be an issue unless the builders van is emblazoned with their branding as businesses aren't allowed to use it.
    • Perhaps they would run into the issue that Lambeth had if they put it on the  Rye - maybe they would need planning permission for change of use if more than 28 days of permitted development are used up for all the other events plus this. So perhaps emphasising that the two areas are distinct from each other actually helps the council.
    • I think the council could make more of that too. Sell a ticketed event with a local celebrity turning the lights on, followed by a street party with christmas carols and a christmas pop song cover band.
    • When we had lots of rubble to dispose of, we hired a zip an and took it. Didn't have to pay, but they don't allow vans in Sundays from memory
