Great. Let's open up a bar and serve alcohol in empty ink cartridges and snacks served on cdr's. We can argue about change of use later. Should be able to stay in business for at least 5 years as long as we never turn up to application hearings.

partially helpful, but could be changed to be something much more useful......either way parkhill will probaly buy it (if they have already not) whack the rent up and you know whats coming next

Bugger, they are dead handy if you need to get something PDQ.

Wonder if they'll be selling off their stock. Always fancied a really good Rotring Pen set. Sad but true.

Why don't 550 disgruntled forumites stick in a grand each to buy it and lease it to Parkhill Properties?

It is a pity because they were useful. Maybe a sushi bar next?

Did anyone posting actually read the particulars?

An asking price of ?550k for a 74 year lease with an annual ground rent of ?50 seems reasonable.

As far as I know Parkhill Properties does not buy leases.

The previous thread on Ralon Stationers was a low-point for the East Dulwich Forum.

To be honest I simply clicked on the link and read this (written in bold)

"RETAIL,INVESTMENT PROPERTY - 144.65 sq.m.(1557 sq. ft.) ?550,000 Freehold"

And foolishly to the conclusion that it was a freehold retail property for sale for the sum of ?550,000.

Next time I shall be more thorough.

Macroban, again you are right, they advertise it as a freehold but infact it's a lease. I believe it's sold now anyway.

I know it's been said before but E Dul really has jumped the shark huh? This was a useful (if eccentric in some ways) shop. Nothing decent has opened in the area since Foxtons turned up, I hold my head in my hands at the thought of Oliver Bonas.
