I have had the most frightful experience. The girls in work have been telling me how the current fashion in London is for men to wax off their body hair - all of it! It is apparently called a BSC. I had thought that this was the kind of thing that was carried out by nasty marines in Guantanamo Bay. Please could someone reassure me that the girls are sending me up?

I need to lie down - I fear I may be getting one of my heads...

OHMYGOD!

I know, I just could not possibly ever say that dreadful phrase.

I must go and get my 4head stick from my handbag, I am nauseated. Surely this is just for fetishists and those who have intimate "metalwork" and drive Ford Capri's?

I think that the sack would be equally painful Keef - all that tugging on your marble pouch.

Still, the ladies seem to go through some truly awful procedures on an entirely volunary basis (depilation of a variety of types, plastic surgery, child birth) so we shouldnt complain.

Having said that my back, sack and crack are my own private kingdoms and nobody is getting anywhere near them - which is the source of a great deal of regret.

Not sure how deeply I want to get in to this, but my arguement was that if they pulled the skin on the sack taunt, it would be quite painless (I have no intention of ever experimenting with this theory)... The sack end of the crack though..... There's no hiding from that pain!

I did let an ex do my back once before a holiday... Since then I have decided that people on the beach can just put up with the hair!

So Banjaminty, you really and seriously have yourself depiliated? Are you a young man?

Perfect Michael and Keef, I am relieved to hear that you do not indulge in these practices. I think that a man should be fluffy, I consider it a sign of verility. It is terribly masculine afterall, you should see my housekeepers top lip - a joy to behold. Is waxing genuinely something that the average single man would consider normal though? The girls in work say that anything less is dreadfully unhygienic. I am trying to keep up with the young people, but since Ipods/MSN/Skype came on the market, it all seems to be getting away from me.

My munchkings are so very young, I am just trying to stay current. I want to be able to relate to them when they are teenagers.

haha - that has really made me laugh - much needed relief, having a boring day at work today and it's not even noon. Men shaving their bits makes their other bit look bigger too...

    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
