Avi Buffalo. Hugely assured debut from four high school graduated. Thy were only sixteen when some of the dongs were recorded. Staggering really and well worth a listen (even if they do sound a bit like The Sleepy Jackson)

I agree, The National's new album 'High Violet' is an absolute cracker...and almost as good as their previous, 'Boxer'.

Yes, new National is good indeed. I think it's better than Boxer and almost as good as Alligator, maayyyybe even better.

Think I'm a gonna have to get me some National albums. Saw them on Later and was impressed. Not heard them before but then I am an old fart now.

High Violet is an improvement on Boxer but still prefer Sad Songs For Dirty Lover and Alligator.

Broken Social Scene are getting a lot of play to and from work at moment.

On another note, Morning Benders playing Camden Barfly at beginning of July.

Alligator probably still my favourite, but I'm still digesting this one and it's lighter on the hooks, but somehow more seductive, whereas I found Boxer rather aimless.

Loving the new Crystal Castles album whilst on the subject of Canadanians.

Shock horror, hold the front page - I bought a CD the other day; Tracey Thorn's "Love and its Opposite". So far, sounds promising.

Not surprising that I treated myself to "Slash", the new "solo" album from the axe-man himself.

Not an album for someone wanting ground breaking experimental music. However, if you want to listen to some great guitar, and a few good guest vocal appearances, it's cool!

Yep, Plastic Beach it is. Really good album by the Gorillaz - they always do good stuff. Love Damon's voice... ah!!!(tu)

Gorillaz closed Coachella this year and it was a great end fitting end to a fabulous 3 days and nights of dancing in the desert.

Yes Jalapeno - I was a lucky girl and it was a great end. I had a couple of friends who saw the Gorillaz show from the side of the stage and apparently Damien was not a happy bunny and was having a major strop. Apparently. I didn't notice annything but then again I was a long way away and had had a lot of tequilla and danced myself silly in the dance tent. I wasn't noticing much to be honest.
