all complete and utter shit.

The fast food version of reading - news for grazers and mobile phone fetishists

take a book or buy a paper - if you pay for a daily, it usually follows that you take ownership for it and dispose of carefully.

both absolutely true - but I don't think all the people who currently use 'em think the same. Does my head in as well

When I go to NY and get the freebies there the quality is fantastic - some of them anyway. But they are weekly. And aen't shoved into every commuters hands (that's the bit I object to most)

Like SeanMacG, I also object to how aggressive the street vendors are in trying to get you to take one of their crappy papers.

I have so little "me" time in a working day (don't we all) and in days gone by I used to look forward to a quiet walk (to/from the office to the bus stop, sandwich shop etc). I genuinely found these snatched moments in the "fresh" air to be therapeutic and calming. These days if you work in central London you can?t walk down the street without someone stopping you for something or other. I really find this invasive ? I just want to have a moment with my thoughts. Too much to ask?

However I think all women moderate their behaviour when on their own, walking at night especially as they fear danger. Two interesting articles https://www.statista.com/statistics/288298/female-victims-of-homicide-england-and-wales-by-relationship-to-offender/?srsltid=AfmBOoqZ9-CIEJWe9kesKy2G_KWxjXPh-tXMRsLvKim0M6mS00dksiKH https://www.theguardian.com/education/2025/sep/23/majority-of-girls-and-young-women-in-uk-alter-behaviour-to-feel-safe-study-finds?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
    • What ever they decide I would have thought that the skate park would not be staying but really hope I am wrong as in my minds eye, I see the skate park as potential parking spaces after all if it is going to be community, flats, retail units, cafe, etc folks are going to want to have the parking availability - Amir like the parade of shops opposite. if the skate park goes then I think it is Dulwich Estate obligation to find another suitable area… a lot of community spirit and hard work went into developing the skate park and the youngsters should be very proud of what they have done  and achieved.
    • Hi all My car was stolen between 1.30pm-1.50pm today in SE22 East Dulwich in South East London. I have of course reported this to the police but not much is being done, so I thought I'd give this a shot. The registration is GM66YOV, though its possible the licence plate may have been changed by now. If you see it anywhere please contact me or the police. Thankyou!
    • Years ago, got my ears pierced, alcohol on site, gun ..done.. Simple.. Gosh, surely your daughter of mothers can recommend  - do you really need to post on forum? Or maybe you home school whatever.. still recovering from shock, posted along the lines of, advice needed about adopting/ buying a dog…. Guess I am now at a age, where I should just keep quiet and pass no comment and read  postings like a “soap” - cheaper than tv licence…
