Front door frustrations

Hi all - not so much frustrations as where to start

We're having the front of our house restored and have in mind the door we want - we're just not sure what we need in the way of door accessories, type of locks, etc

Any tips or warnings before we get buying ?

Thanks - did a search and heard mixed things about Dawes for Doors. Am going to visit the "Select A Door" place in Penge - have heard good things about it

Just got lovely new door from London Door Co. but had to sell Mr. Moos to pay for it..

Banham locks are frighteningly expensive but very, very secure and well designed.

Had to change my door lock on a sunday, went to b&q paid ?60 for beefy yale latch lock.

The following sunday week saw the same lock ?15 on a stall in cheshire st off brick lane, I thought it was a mistake then saw a second lock same make size look etc ?15 moral of this story, don't shop in b&q when sunday market is available.
