From Horniman Museum on Facebook:

Seen the Rain Room at the Barbican?

We're in the running to host the artists behind this - rAndom International - at a Museums at Night in May this year.

For this to happen, we need you guys to choose us in Connect 10's vote.

Please vote for us here: http://www.culture24.org.uk/places%20to%20go/museums%20at%20night/art420741

Currently they are in third place, with only 15%. Please take 30 seconds to vote for the Horniman for this exhibition.

Thanks for supporting this. Increasing the percentage of votes by 9 points in a single day is a great start and if others join in and vote we will easily overtake the two top choices.

Well used online forums can make a huge difference in online polls like this.

Don't forget to ask your family to vote as well. As long as you have seperate email addresses, different people can each cast a vote.

It's a shame this has been moved to The Lounge. Is it not considered close enough to ED to be in ED businesses? I'm sure a lot of people in ED use the Horniman, maybe it could go in the 'What's On' section if it's not felt to suit the business section.

I had to drag the Woman - felt a little grubby afterwards but it's all in the name of art

Reports on other forum are of Horniman reaching 27%, still third place, so we need to get many more votes before the close of voting on Tuesday. We have moved up 12 percentage points, so we are closing the gap with the joint leaders who have fallen to 36%.

Please also consider sharing this on Facebook by going to http://www.facebook.com/hornimanmuseumandgardens to encourage your friends and neighbours to support our local museum.

This thread needs a big bump. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VOTE FOR THE HORNIMAN.

The last project this company did (the Rain Room) finished last week at the Barbican. It was free but there was a permanent 2 hour queue to get in, except for the final weekend when it was longer than that. I've no idea if it was good or not because I was put off by the queues and didn't see it.

This is our chance to have an exhibit on our doorstep, at the Horniman. It's worth 2 minutes of your time to register and vote, so please.

Use the OP's link at the top of the thread to vote.

It's a bit confusing at the end when you have to drag and drop the icon thingy, but please persevere.

Great news - The Horniman won!

"rAndom International?s recent immersive installation Rain Room at Barbican?s Curve Gallery had visitors queuing for hours. For Museums at Night they will be weaving their magic at The Horniman Museum and Gardens whose 1,615 votes secured a live art event with an installation, music and storytelling inspired by the museum, garden spaces and natural history collections."

    • There is a huge area, near Telegraph Hill which is public space… park.. decent distance between houses and park as well. Well, none of my business.. certainly can’t think of any think worse than thousands of people jammed into  space, using hedges and rest of park as free urinals, really strange that they use that section as opposed to, guess you would call it open area ie no railings…
    • @Sue I think there was only 1 free day in the 7 day event GALA were asking for, that was the third day, after the first weekend. I think the second weekend was meant to be paid for access. I agree, the free Horniman music events are great but have nowhere near the same impact as GALA.
    • I'm going to pretend that your manner of proceeding with repairs and prioritising your to do list is completely alien to me.
    • You may be assuming I will soon get round to doing this. Unfortunately it is presently not near the top of my extremely long "to do" list 😥 However I now know what to do when I feel the urge to take action, which is great! It  could be one of the random things I suddenly start on when I get fed up with the more important and/or urgent things .....
