Save the date!

The next meet up will be Sat 13th December in the eve. We will meet in The Rye pub before going to the film. I will post times once the Peckhma Plex publish their times (usually a few days before).

For those who haven't been before: we are a friendly bunch of ED locals who meet up every 6 weeks or so for a gossip and a film! Many good friends have been made over the last couple of years, and new people still come every time which is brilliant. We usually go back to the pub after the film.

Hi Guys,

Let's go and see a Jude Law film called Black Sea. It has excellent reviews, so should be a good night!

It starts at the Peckham Plex at 20:55. Let's leave the pub by 8:15 to buy our tickets (by all means buy them in advance if you'd prefer).

So let's meet at 7:15 in the Rye Pub so we have a good hour to meet and catch up, and hopefully say hello to new people!

Hi Everyone,

Our first meet up of 2015 will be on Sat 31st Jan in the evening. Exact timings will be on this thread a few days before hand (the plex publish their films and timings on the Tuesday before), but keep that evening free if you'd like to come along!

We are a friendly bunch of locals who meet every few weeks for a drink at the Rye Hotel, a film at the Plex (?4.99!!) and then usually another drink back at the Rye.

Can I ask a really odd question - what is the average age. I am not ancient and really enjoy the cinema and go frequently but I like the sound of this but would feel a bit out of it if everyone is early 20's!!!! Thanks very much Janet (and Mike)

I don't think we've ever had anyone below 30. Average seems to be mid 30's to mid 40's with a few on either side of that!

I've had a couple of requests to see Wild, which looks brilliant! Not sure about timings yet though, but fingers crossed it's on at a decent time.

The plex will publish their times hopefully on Tuesday/Wednesday, so check back for meeting time at the Rye Hotel.

The Plex aren't showing Wild on Saturday, so I've gone with another request, Ex Machina. It has excellent reviews and should be really good! I'll put some info about it at the bottom of this post.

The film starts at 9:10. The Plex is sometimes really busy, so it might be worth booking online before hand, but we will leave plenty of time to get to the cinema and buy tickets for those not buying in advance. But obviously I can't guarantee tickets!

So plan of action:

Meet in Rye Hotel Pub at 7:30 (I'll post on here where I am). I should have the film clacker board with me!

Leave the pub at about 8:30 for the Plex

Film at 9:10.
