Ice cream place

Are there really going to be enough ice cream eaters for ED to support TWO ice cream shops? Not forgetting Hope and Greenwood's very yummy and excellent value ice cream?!

I am sure there will be enough, especially if they charge high enough prices to satisfy ED punters. The well-off majority, that is!

ScoopED had to leave its shop for 6 months as the freeholder wanted to renovate the flats above the shop. They have posted on here saying they hope to reopen.

Isn't Scoop's building a set of single storey shops? Where are these "flats above the shop"?

That is the explanation ScoopED themselves gave here on the forum (you can do a search for the thread). Whether its true or not, I don't know but I can't see why they would lie about it...

Do specialist ice cream shops in areas like ED really make enough over the winter months to survive?!? Must be damn fine ice cream or damn big margins!

mmmmm had my 1st ice cream there (salted caramel / nutella for me and mango / strawberry sorbet for my son) thank god im in training for a half marathon or id be getting very fat this summer!!!

we tried Hope & Greenwood & thought it the worst ever.

I will stick with Ben & Jerrys & Haagen Dazs

Went yesterday for my first ice cream, the vanilla was great, pistachio to die for, there was a queue, had to be patient, as the kids in front of me were having a debate about which ice cream to have! so they kept me amused!! I brought the take away boxes, which given the quality, I thought were reasonably priced.

Really? When did you try it? If recently, they must have changed their supplier, as last year it was absolutely excellent.

I went in last week for their salted caramel icecream, and they didn't have any, which was very disappointing. I tried Oddono's, which was nice but didn't make me drool as much as Hope and Greenwood's had, so I wanted to see if my memory of Hope and Greenwood's was accurate!

Went in the other day and had salted caramel and chocolate chip - delicious! Bit pricey but you do get a lot of ice cream and we ended up sharing a medium between two of us.
