They just mentioned the distillers on the radio and reminded me how much I like this song

The Distillers - City of Angels

That should noisy up an otherwise quiet and overcast Wednesday afternoon for you.

Apparently the singer is a Kiwi or Australian or something like that.

I used to listen to this song on my walkman and sing it out loud when I was a kid in the park just up from my house in Empire Bay.. I particularly loved the line about the vegemite sandwich..I recently introduced Mrs Strawbs (Jaws) to it and she thought it was quite funny..

sorry no song to contribute as I am blocked to all sites at work.. :(

I bought the excellent Love Story on DVD at the weekend, and would highly recommend it to anybody with an interest in the band, or the sixties LA scene in general.. Interviews with pretty much the whole band, and lots of light shed on how it all went wrong after the sheer genius of Forever Changes.

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
