Just watching the news and apparently a 'major incident' has taken place over there earlier on this afternoon. Obviously very early on and not all the facts are out there, but IF this incident is related to terrorism, in a relatively quiet suburban corner of SE London, does this raise concern for other suburbs of our city where military bases are located? Anyone have any further details on this incident?

Which is why I wish they'd stop using the words islamic and terrorism every two seconds!

Sun Tzu - Kill One, Frighten Ten Thousand

its all about airplay nowadays

pulled from the EDL Facebook page - Im not going to link

"Again please be patient we have 3000+ new page likes in a very short space of time, Our thought must be with the dead soldier and his family, We will never surrender to this SCUM"

2 followers of Islam target an individual, kill him in a barbaric act of terror and you don't want the words Islamic and terrorism mentioned. How do you want it described?

I obviously agree that the Nazi party were extremely short of sense, and not only when they executed Marinus van den lubbe for his political beliefs, what major political organisation in Britain today are you suggesting is going to execute innocent individuals for their political beliefs?

My gut says to call this terrorism flatters it and gives it political justification to some extent.

To me this is just pointless nihilistic violence, it's murder.

It's kicking someone to death because they're a goth with pierced lips, or homosexual walking home from vauxhall, or running a cyclist over because they don't pay road tax.

The cheap bullshit political claptrap whilst narcissistically posturing for the cameras suggest a degree of sociopathy to me.

Boring thoughts aside my heart goes out to the family of the chap killed, utterly horrific.

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Catholicism get off with that for priest abuse? Some, minority bits of Islam, are not that peace loving as events in Iraq this week have shown....are we all going to cover up our ears with the Guardian? It's very easy to make a case for significant chunks of Islam (not muslims)being pretty unpleasant.

    • You'd need to get a proper quote (or three) for instance removing a cast iron bath is a very different job from removing an acrylic one. Again what pipe work will be being joined into - matching old imperial pipes with modern metric ones is different from like to like, as is dealing with a copper or an iron distribution system. The amount (area) of retiling required is an issue, as will be the state of the wall behind the tiles. It may of course all be very plain sailing, or not. Have a first look at plumber recommendations on the relevant pages on this site. If it's all easy then 3 days work may be sufficient. But it could be a week if there are snags.
    • Hi. Can anyone suggest a plumber for the job below? Replace bath tub with a shower enclosure, putting pipes to showerhead behind wall, re-titling damaged/removed tiles Also any idea of the costs involved for the labour as we will buy the items required?
    • Aria came round to fix my tub drain when I'd messed up the seal. Came within hours, fixed the tub, and ran a bath to make sure it was okay. Here's where the fun starts. While he was over, I asked him questions about the rest of the plumbing round the house. I had just moved into a Victorian home that was previously being rented. Unsurprisingly, we found another leak in the tub and a drip in the kitchen tap.  He came back the next day to put a better pipe in my bathtub and replace the kitchen sink. Painstakingly figured out how to replace the hard-to-access kitchen sink without cutting through the wood panel with the help of his builder friend, Mark. Answered all my questions and clearly knew his stuff. All this right before Christmas holidays!
